due date

I was reading another question and it brought up a little concern about me. According to my dates I am due Aug 10th and I am very sure on my lmp it never changed. I was about 8 weeks, the week before christmas,when I got that possitive test, but I couldn't get in to see the ob until Feb 4th which would of put me at about 14 weeks for my first ultrasound. I found out the sex of the baby on March 21st which by my dates  would put me at 20 weeks but by the utlrasound I was only 18. I am just trying to figure out around which date to say is my due date so I know when to take off work since I only want to take off a week before the baby comes.

He doesn't seem concerned he said I measure fine cause people comment on how big I am already so I brought that up to him at my last appointment, but I don't go back now until the begining of June. I do need to know by the end of June though cause my employer needs at least a 30 day notice of when I plan to take my leave and an estamation of when I will return.

Have you talked to your OB about the difference in dates?  Do they seem concerned by the difference in dates?  I would discuss it with them at your next appointment, they may even do another u/s at 34 weeks just to check and see how everything is going. I would even request another one, most insurance companies will pay for at least 3 u/s.  I would just wait and see what the dr says and what the u/s shows, unless of course your employer wants to know now.

The first day of my lmp was Nov 2nd. If they go by the ultrasound then my baby is measuring small for lmp dates. My first due date going by my lmp is Aug 10th and now by the ultrasound is Aug 20th

He originally dated me off of my lmp until I got the 1st ultrasound then he's going by that but I read that around 13 weeks or later for a first ultrasound could be off by up to two weeks. This is why im getting confused and I am not sure when to take off of work.

When was your lmp?  I found out I was pregnant on 12/13 and I was 4 weeks pregnant at the time  with my lmp at the time being 11/16 and my due date was 8/21/11.

My OB always went by the lmp, not what the u/s said because you could just be having a larger baby. I was measuring a week ahead with DS and he still went by lmp...my son was 13 days late and was big, had to have a c-section.

Did your OB date your pregnancy by your lmp or your ultrasound? There's 2 weeks difference there.
