fetal movement felt outside at 18 weeks??

My boyfriend DEFINITELY felt the baby kicking last night, about 4 times in
a row. It was great, you should have seen his face.lol. But I'm only 18 weeks today, it seems like this isn't possible. Everything I've read says he shouldn't be able to feel this until 28 weeks or so? It definitely was not gas or anything else, I can tell the difference at this point. Has anyone else had this happen?

DH was able to feel movement at 18 weeks too ( But i had to cuddle up to him on my side and the baby would kick DH's Butt lol). Im now 21 weeks and we are able to see the baby move on the outside by laying flat on my back...Im a very thin person, alway  pre preg weight has never been above 100 lbs. my weight now is 102. So yeah I deff agree its has alot to do with the person weather they are really thin or a larger person.

Different for everyone! The pregnancy books are just a guideline for the average woman. Some things you experience may be textbook or they may be unique to you. If you are a very thin woman then it is definitely more likely baby than anything else. A larger woman has more layers of fat for the baby to push and kick through in order to be felt from the outside.

Also a baby movement from the outside is just so unique- it feels like a hard little lump bumps into you and if it moves more than once that is just more confirmation that it is baby. Woo hoo! Exciting!

I am 19 weeks with my second child but my DH hasnt been able to feel movement on the outside yet... I have been feeling him since I was 15 weeks... I think it really just depends on baby!

It's possible! congrats!! With my first, I used to lay on the couch and I was around 18-20 weeks and could see small little waves on my belly from the baby moving. My husband even saw it a few times and felt it. It's pretty amazing!

My husband could feel the baby move from the outside since 17 weeks 3 days... Must just have babies with long legs! :)

everyone is different. you know the difference in air or a baby kicking. congratulations :) im 18 weeks in a few days. i cant wait to feel baby from the outside. it makes it much more real for our partners :) at 28 weeks you are more likely going to see an elbow or something poking out, usually you feel baby from the inside around 18-22 weeks then felt from the outside after a few weeks. 28 weeks is probably the latest point you should start to feel something, it seems pretty late to feel something. its also reassuring when you feel baby moving

Ye it's possible, my bf has been able to feel movemnts for about 7/8 weeks now n been able to see movements outside my stomach for bout a month :) n I'm only 27 weeks
