heartbeat on doppler

Hey there ladies.  I have rented a home doppler.....  found the heartbeat 3 days in a row (with much difficulty because baby is behind placenta) at 10 weeks 2 days, 3 days, and 4 days.  For the last few days I can't find it, can only hear the placenta.  Should I be concerned, or is it because it's still so early and the placenta is so lound?!?  Is everything okay as long as I hear the placenta?  Thanks

I know my OB doesn't want to use a doppler til 12-14 wks because if you are heavier or if the placenta is in the front, he won't be able to pick it up til then for certain (which would cause mom to worry).  So if you are in your first trimester, I wouldn't want to try and use a doppler on myself at home for fear that it's still just too early (even if everything is perfectly normal).  Good Luck!

What store can I bay a doopler? I had been spotting. Midwife told me not to worry (I showed her pictures of my spotting) that is normal in the first trimester and did not give me a referral for an ultrasound or used a doopler. I would like to listen to the hearbeat for reassurance.

I don't know if there is a specific kind.  But i bout a good one from the store and i kinda hated it.  Even when i was further along it was still kinda hard to hear cause my daughter some how always knew when you put one on my tummy and just as soon as i thought that i'd have the heartbeat shed go crazy and i'd tottally lose the heart beat lol.  But it is kinda fun to even just hear the swishing around when they move or even kick the monitor when they realize something is pressed against your tummy.  just have fun with it.  I couldn't really cause i'd lose patientence after she would always go crazy and move lol

no, you don't need a full bladder.  The placenta sounds like a woosh woosh.  The heartbeat sounds like a fast gallop.  The baby moving sounds like an air bubble moving through the water. (bloop)

im not sure, but you can always ask your ob on what you should be expecting to find with the home dopplers.
