Also heat worked at first, then hurt, then ice helped, now nothing does. When I say it's at a 10 it's really a 10. Had my daughter with no pain meds and didn't cry. I have screamed in agony over this. Maybe the duration makes is harder to handle. Been almost 3 weeks now.
Houston, it started out not so bad, increasing as time goes on. The thought it was a torn muscle, but may be strained badly and can't heal bc of baby. I also have a 30 pound daughter, almost 3 ,and am very small. 5'0" and 98 pounds when not pregnant. They can see toenough muscle on ultrasound and it wasn't that.
We seen the feet on the ultrasound so that's an idea but unlikely. A slipped or seperated rib makes sense... wonder if the chiropractors would have caught that, or can fix it. I do have torn cartilage on that rib, idk why or if it is related. Just desperate for the pain to be gone and be off painkillers. It also stresses baby for me to be in so much pain.

YES! I have that right now! I went to my OB today because she insisted on seeing me. She says I likely pulled and possibly tore a muscle in between my ribs and breast tissue. I'm a small person to begin with and having the belly weight and my 27 pound 19 month old most likely caused a pull or possibly a tear. Its in the exact spot you are describing, the baby's foot is not caught in the rib and the pain level for me has gotten to a 7.
She said heating pads and Tylenol.
Hope this helps.
I read somewhere about something called either slipped rib or separated rib. Sounds like what you may be experiencing. Its fairly common in pregnancy. Try googling it and see if that may be it. I understand it goes away after pregnancy. Good luck.
I wonder if maybe one of the babies feet is stuck in one of your ribs...my friend had that happen with her baby and they didnt find out till they had to do an emergency c-section...hope it's not that for you but its a thought.
