I'm 21. This is my first baby and I'm having a home birth. I live about 35 min. From a hospital. But my mother-in-law has done it 9 times and she doesn't have a high tolerance for pain. She gave me a book that tells you how to relax properly so it doesnt hurt so much. Because the pain is from tightening everything up and being tense.

I think it all depends on you; how well u can tolerate the pain and of course how far u live from the hospital. Me personally i wouldnt cus i live 25 mins away from the hospital way too far if something happened and when i do get preggers i want to have the option of pain medicine but if you think you can do it and dont live far from the hospital and the idea of all that yucky stuff in ur house doesnt gross you out then i would say its perfectly ok.
