how long after your check up were you scheduled to induce?

So I Just got back from my doctors appointment today and he said if I hadn't had my son by next Tuesday he was going to schedule induction.. how far away after the appointment do you think he'll schedule me? I really hope it's next week and I don't have to wait another week.

Well I'm anemic and my son is starting to show signs of stress because he's running out of room... I was a size 0 when I got pregnant. Which isn't healthy because I'm 5'11 but I was having health issues with him. I can't even eat anymore because I hurt so bad it makes me sick. Blah. Maybe moving this weekend will get him to come on his own! Any tricks or suggestions?

They won't induce without a medical reason.  and just because you want it doesn't mean its going to happen.  You really have to have a medical reason for them to do it.  Even when they induce it doesn't always work too.

he may just book you for 3 weeks after your appointment. Depends on how long it takes to book it at the hospital really.

I went in for my 38 week appt with both of my kids and the doc had me come back two days later for a recheck.  Then I was in the hospital the next day for inductions.  I was borderline preeclampsia tho.  So it all depends on your situation.  If there is no medical reason to induce tho, they dont.  They can get into lots of trouble if its not within a certain range of your due date.  My doc said it was 7 days.

by law in the us, most obs cannot induce until after 39wks without a clear and urgent medical reason. and even then most women will need an amnio to check for lung development. some doctors know how to get around this so you may be induced before 39wks... but the rule exists to protect the baby from dangerous medical practices. try to hang in there mama, even though baby could possibly come now and be fine, every extra day in the womb lessens the chance of a NICU stay and lets baby's brain develop more efficiently.

Depends from place to place how long they leave you. I was induced 4 days late with my dd due to high bp, induced 4 days late again with my ds1 due to placenta calcifying and induced 6 days late with my ds2 as I begged! They were born 5 days past due date, 5 days past due date and 7 days past due date...I am 39w 1 day today and have been told they won't induce until I'm 10 days late this time....so hoping I go before then!

I was scheduled to be induced at 5 days overdue with my first but my water broke at 3 days overdue.

It depends on your doctor, etc but my sister has delivered using 2 different doctors (they moved in between baby #1 and baby #2) and was induced for each of them at 10 days overdue.
