is it safe to have brown spotting when trying to have pregnancy?

my last period date was 28 Nov. this Dec 25th  brown spotting started.and till date i m getting that spot atleast once in a day when i have cramps. i m having pain in my breast.for about 10 days.neck pain and feeling anxiety. feeling like going to have periods soon. pls help
Am I pregnant ?
what shall i do to have safe pregnancy?

There might be some other explanation, like stress or not ovulating last month for some random reason, but if you're not spotting fresh blood like a normal period, I would consider waiting a week or so and taking another pregnancy test -- it should be done first thing in the morning. You might just have a low hormone level right now. If you still don't get your period, you could either call your doctor for a blood test or decide to wait it out and see if you skip a second month.

Brown blood is old blood. Your body might be getting rid of "leftover" blood from your last period or something like that. I had cramps and brown spotting when I missed my period last month and am definitely pregnant. We'll find out if everything's definitely OK or not at my dr visit later this afternoon.

hi have the same feelings and last period was on the 24th november 2011............. to date (03/02/2012) still no period, but a BFN on the 31st Dec 2011...

what is happening ?
