need advice: has anyone used Lo Ovral BCP?

Does anyone have experience with Lo Ovral birth control pills?   Did you gain weight? did your sex drive drop? was it effective?

I read on a site that even tylenol will affect how well it works. My dr. first wrote for Nuvaring (fam. dr) then because insurance wouldn't cover it he changed it to this pill...

I've used nuvaring before, and the shot. on the ring I LOVED it, few side effects etc. The shot I hated and gained 50+ lbs on it, had migraines, hot flashes, nausea, and no sex drive to speak of.

I have thought about an IUD but there are 2 reasons I don't think I want one,

#1) it can porforate the uterus (puncture it)
#2) In the event that an egg is fertilized it'll keep it from implanting. Sorry but that's abortion in my book

I thought about Mirena (the IUC) and Paraguard (copper IUD) but i'm allergic to any metals that are not silver or gold especially with earrings and stuff.

It turns out tylenol does NOT affect that BCP it was something that the site had gotten wrong. ( I never did think it affect birth control before so it didn't make sense when I saw it)

Since he's just my PCP I'm going to go to my new OBGYN and see her to get the birth control. The day I was supposed to go in my car died and the engine seized up so I hadn't been able to get on it. That was 2 months ago and we just got a new car this last week.
i'll most likely just keep using condoms.  My mom says we are idiots to rely on condoms because SHE had 3 forms of birth control fail on her when she got preggo with my youngest brother. Sponge, condom and something else. She doesn't understand that although I seem to be very fertile (ttc 2mo for Mason) that I may not end up like her with failed BC. Plus... who is she to tell me I'm stupid for choosing non hormonal birth control with my HUSBAND of 5 years?....jeez

I never used the Low Orval BCP. I have used the patch, which I hated because everyone was asking if I was trying to quit smoking. I LOVED Depo lol didn't gain any weight until I stopped it in 07 but only gained about 20 pounds. I did have a not so great sex drive, but it was still kinda there, but then again I had marriage issues which is why I am no longer married ;)

Have you thought about an IUD? I have heard some good things about it, and will be considering it as a form of BC after I have the last lil one...IF I can even get pregnant lol.

The only bad thing I have ever heard about the IUD was from my ex mother in law...she got pregnant with one..but that was also back in 1980 lol.

If tylenol can effect the low orval BC...I'd toss it out and just use a rain coat for now lol

Hey I am not sure about this kind of birth control pill but when I was taking ortho tri cyclen when I was younger I had to go off of it for a bit just so I could lose some of the weight that it made me put on =( It was totally terrible and I am with you, the only other form of birth control that I have ever used is the nuva ring. I would never use any form of birth control pill and I definitely plan to go back to the ring when I am done with this pregnancy. I would say that if tylenol effects it then I would definitely not take it =( See what else your doctor could prescribe you that your insurance will cover =)
