2 cm sounds about right for 9 weeks. I had an u/s at 8 weeks and the measurement was 1.53 cm, and the heartbeat was clearly visible. I'm so sorry that you are going through this, but I would personally insist on another u/s, just for a peace of mind. The dr. should understand why you want to double check, so I wouldn't hesitate to ask for it. Sorry :( :( :(

At 9 weeks the heartbeat would be obvious. I am sorry that you are going through this but it definitely sounds like your pregnancy ended and your baby's heartbeat stopped. I don't blame you for wanting to wait for the next scan but to expect the baby's heart to start beating again in impossible. Is your doctor sure that you are 9 weeks along? Did they give you a measurement size of the baby? If you don't miscarry in the next 3 weeks before your next scan then definitely think about having the D&C to make sure that it is all out of your system. Hugs sweetie!

Well I would definitely recommend getting another scan JUST to confirm, however I wouldn't wait 3 weeks..I would schedule one for the beginning or end of next week. there's no reason to put yourself through that wait without cause. I'm sorry this is happening to you, but I wouldn't say that there's much hope unless you're not as far along as you think. by 9wks there should be a heartbeat. however, if you ovulated late...or conceived much later than you thought...is that a possibility?

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Was the baby measuring as far along as it was supposed to? Most of the time if you don't see a heartbeat it can either be too early or it means that the baby has passed. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and we saw a heartbeat and at 9 weeks we got another ultrasound and the baby was only measuring 6 1/2 weeks and there was no heartbeat. The baby had ended up passing and my body was unable to get rid of it. I had to do a D&C since if you leave it too long in your body it can cause all sorts of problems. After my D&C I ended up getting pregnant again right away and now have a healthy 2 1/2 year old.
