Pregnancy is a wonderful time in a woman's life but at times can be a very stressful event because you never know the outcome. I'm also not trying to be negative but I as well want to share my experience. Two weeks ago at 10 weeks of pregnancy I started spotting and after five days the spotting turned into light bleeding. I had no crampa and no pain. But because of the bleeding at 11 weeks I went to ER and the Doctor measured my hcg levels and was told they were accurate with 11 weeks of pregnancy. Therefore, the Doctors did an ultrasound and when I saw one of their faces I knew the outcome wasn't good. They saw a sac with no fetus. They only saw a tiny mass in the sac. I know it was my baby that stopped growing as an embryo. Is what they call a blighted ovum where the embryo doesn't grow past 6 or 8 weeks. And yet I also had pregancy symptoms up to 10 1/2 weeks and my Hcg levels where up there measuring what they should measured at 11 weeks. I guess the body tries to support and protect the pregnancy because there's a sac and then when it realizes that there's no fetus it follows with a miscarriage. The Doctors told me to expect a miscarriage and yes, the next day after getting up in the morning I felt something coming out, it was the sac. I have the sac at home not knowing what to do with it. I want to keep it. I wish your outcome is a good one. I read somewhere that sometimes the baby can be in a position where is hard to hear the heartbeat.

Yeah it is crazy how they actually go from your last menstrual period to date the pregnancy.  I am not trying to be negative but I just wanted to share my experience...I was pregnant just about a year ago and at 8 weeks they did not find a hb...I was not bleeding or cramping and my levels were high and I was having pregnancy symptoms...We waited a week and got another u/s and nothing changed, levels were still fine, and the sac around the baby kept growing...this went on until the 11th week and I ended up having to be induced into a mc because at 11 weeks, the baby was still measuring 8 and had no hb still...It was so deceiving because I felt pregnant and my blood levels said that I surely was pregnant.  Good luck!  Keep getting ultrasounds and hopefully that will be a good window into what is going on.  I am so sorry you are going through this!  Either way it turns out, it is super stressful!  Hugs and Prayers!

Good luck...I just wanted to send hugs and prayers...Are you positive on your dates?  Is there any way you could have been 7 weeks?

I had the same thing happen. I went for an appt. at 9 weeks and they found twins with no heartbeat.  They wanted to do a D&C right away because of the increased risk of hemmorhage with twins (more blood volume than with a singleton)....I refused b/c I felt fine....I had bloodwork drawn also and my levels were high (Hcg was 13,000)...I had it drawn again 2 days later and it dropped to 11,000, which is a pretty slow drop for a miscarriage.  Anyway, I ended up going ahead with the D&C after waiting for things to happen on their own over the weekend.
Like justice6920 mentioned, is it possible that your dates are off?
I wish you the best and hope that your outcome is a positive one.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you...... From what i know you should be able to hear the heart beat about 6 or 7 weeks.....they definately should have been able to see something at 9 weeks..... Were they sure on your date of conception, could you be a little earlier than they think?
