ovulating after the mirena coil is removed

I had the mirena coil removed on the 20th feb. I want to conceive! Me and my partner have regular sex every day or every second day! How long does it take for my body the get back to normal and does the mirena stop you ovulating? I had a little period on the 12th feb before it was removed and nothing since. think i should be due a period this week.

Had mirena removed on the first of June this year.  Had a period in June and one in July...then nothing!  In November we decided to take a pregnancy test just in case and we were overjoyed to find we were pregnant.  Blood test said about 7 weeks.  Today we just found out we have a blighted ovum.  Sack that develops minus embryo.  The more I look I am finding this seems to happen a lot after mirena.  I'm very disappointed that I elected to use the product.  It was NOT cheap!

I had mine removed I think it was October 20th and I got my BFP December 1st I believe it was, but miscarried December 23rd due to it being a blighted ovum. We had a D&C that day and started ttc immediately. We fell pregnant again And got our BFP January 28th. Some women bounce right back and some women don't... I think it depends a lot on how long you have it in and how your body reacts to it.

Good luck TTC and SSBD!

five and half weeks since mine was removed and still no period. Went to doctor today and he said because I have been so hormonal and sick this week that my normal hormones were just starting to kick in. He said to start looking for signs of ovulation anytime soon.

I had my Mirena removed almost 4 weeks ago. I ovulated two weeks after, and now I'm pregnant! It can happen quickly, although I don't think it always does.

I had the Mirena taken out at the first of july, my periods are soo irregular now and I read that is a sign that I am not ovulating. After reading this I also read that many woman do not start ovulating again until around 1 year after having it taken out. I was soo upset at finding this information on the mirena site... why didn't I know this before I put it in or before I had it taken out???? Bitterness!! I wish you the best.

well i had my mirena removed last week. my doc told me that my cycle should go back to normal right away. it is possible to get pregnant right away and some do and some have healthy normal pregnancy's but some don't and its good to wait a cycle before getting pregnant cause there is a risk of miscarriage and the hormonal issues that come with coming off of a bc.

After coming off any birth control your body takes a while to adjust so it could be that it will take you a few months before your periods become regular again and your cycle could be out of sink. If you are trying to conceive then an ovulation kit may help you detect when you are ovulating until your cycle becomes regular.

I had my Mirena removed in Sept 30, 2007.  I've got my period every month, but they have been very irregular.  In between 30-40 days apart.  I've been ttc ever since.  No luck yet, maybe this month.

After reading up on the Mirena (I, too, just had mine removed and would like to conceive) it seems that the progesterone does inhibit ovulation.  Looks like it might take a couple of months for this to clear the system and return fertility to normal.  Anyone else have insight or been through this before?
