It can actually be the baby's joints too :-). I'll be sitting still and hear the baby move around and hear little pops and cracks sometimes..I never noticed it with my first child, but with baby #2 and with this pregnancy I hear it a lot, it's funny. my doctor says that because the baby's joints are looser they're easier to pop so if baby overextends a limb or moves too quickly the joints can make the popping sound and it's completely harmless.

Its is exactly like your knuckles cracking.   The farther you are along the more and more your hips spread. Which builds a non harmful gas in ur joints.    When you move the joints twist and get rid of the "gas".   Which makes a cracking noise.     No need to worry. This usually goes away when you have your baby.      Just remember to stretch. Cause sometimes the popping can be painful.

I had that happened with my daughter, I believe it was her moving and it grinder her bones a bit cuz it was so cramped in there. I always thoughts it was her ankles clicking bc u would hear it when she would move her legs, but I could be wrong.  Would be very interesting to find out what it really is.

LOL. Funny you posted this. I am 34.4 weeks and when I sit down, I hear the same thing coming from the top of ny uterus. You can hear it from outside and well as feel it. It feels to me like my uterus is like farting or something. Haha. I haven't asked a doc about it yet, I always forget. But I doubt its anything to worry about. And Idk if you're experiencing what I am.
Its just funny you posted this because I was kinda like uhhhhh.... what is that annoying popping.? Lol
