pregnant sick and couging horribly...

I am almost 25 weeks pregnant and sick and can't stop coughing. Took robedussin but I am coughing so much I can't catch my breath and gagging every time I cough from couging so hard... water is doing nothing for me and medicine doesn't seem to be helping. Any other suggestions?

Thanks. I have never coughed so bad in my life and it just wouldnt stop. It lasted for about 30 minutes where I was coughing and gagging and couldnt breath and then when that happens I get so frustrated I start crying and cant stop. My dog thought I was nuts lol! But I drank some tea and took a bath and the bathroom had lots of steam so that helped I think... About to go buy myself a humidifier!

Peppermint tea with honey, or a spoonful of honey. Cough drops also help. I've been coughing for most of the pregnancy, about 7 and a half months now. Poor little one probably thinks it's normal. I use a lot of cough drops, and drink tea with honey every night.
