pregnant slight decline in beta hcg

I am 32 yrs old married with two young daughters. I had my last LMP 14/2/2011. I had a transvaginal ultrasound done when i was 5 weeks 1 day which showed a gestational sac measuring around 4.75mm.  A transabdominal ultrasound was repeated at 5 weeks and 3 days and the gestational sac measured 6.65mm. I also had a beta hcg done at 5 weeks 1 days with a level of 3172.  The beta hcg was repeated 48 hrs later which showed a slight decline at 3020. I am experiencing no cramps or bleeding.  I have occassional nausea and breast sorness. My doctor will repeat the beta hcg level again and a repeat ultrasound in 2 days time...  My question is is this considered to be missed abortion?? why was the beta hcg showed a slight drop??

Unfortunatly if you have a decline in HCG it usually means a non viable pregnancy, HCG doubles at a rate of 48-72hrs in early pregnancy. But having said that miracles do occur!! Crossing my fingers your one of them.
Please keep us informed and you are in my thoughts.

I hope your next hgc levels double.  They should double every 48hrs.  If they don't, it's not usually a good sign.  It's usually not a good sign if they drop.  I'm sorry.
