pressure in the cervix at 29 weeks?

is it normal to have pressure in your cervix around 29 weeks....i noticed after bd'n with my fiance that the pressure feeling in my cervical area was def more than usual....im ok as long as im not on my feet but if im on my feet its very uncomfortable and also getting dressed is proving to be a challenge

my baby's movements have been normal and ive been able to count to 10 movements quite frequently so i do not think she is in any danger...my neighbor also mentioned that ive dropped...so im wondering if maybe this cervical pressure im feeling is the baby engaging?

is it too early for this? i have an u/s on monday so ill get a def answer soon but i need some reassurance to get through the weekend...

also...i have no spotting or cramping....my belly is hard as a rock but i think thats the position of the baby....and im also a high risk for preterm labor...

what do ya'all think?

My oldest offered to help paint but like I told her, it would take me a lot longer to show her how to do it right than to just do it myself..BEsides the biggest help she can be is watching the others for me!!!  I still have  alittle more trim to pain, then we have to take the old couch down to the basement to get it out of the way.  Monday I should be able to schedule the installation day for the carpet.  Once that's done we can set the living room back up.  We still have some window casing and the crown molding to put up but That can be done later.

I'm going every week now so my next appt is going to be Thursday!  I'll start getting the wonderful 2 finger exams weekly with this appt!  I should also be scheduling my next ultrasound.

I have been having sharp stabbing pains in my cervic for weeks I can't remember exactly when they started. But last night they were coming pretty regularly for a few hours. I haven't felt any since about 2 am.

I was suppose to pack stuff up last night but all I did was sit on the couch and then go to bed.

I see my dr on Thursday and will be telling him of this pain.

LOL....its impossible to not get work done...i feel like if i dont do it it wont get done...my fiance just left town again...he'll be back tomorrow afternoon....he had to put a clutch in his car and its much cheaper to do it with his brother than pay for it here so off he went...

i think they are going to start NT tests on me either at 32 or 34 week ultrasound...not sure...but im def going to let them know this has been happening...im just the worry wart that its too soon...im only 29 1/2 weeks and it just seems so soon for her to be descending

as for your living room you could ask your older kids to help you get it done...LOL...why did i even right that...they are kids...all they want to do is play and complain....hopefully you are done soon so you can actually relax

when is your next doc appt?

Well when I told my doc about them day before yesterday he said it's from the baby descending and getting into position.  He didn't seem overly concerned even wtih this being my 6th full term pregnancy.  He just said he'll start seeing me every week and start cervical checks with my next appt.  He did say to stay off my feet as much as possible and no lifting.  I wanted to laugh when he said that.  I have 4 other kids and a living room that hsa to be painted for carpet to be put in.  Telling me no lifting and to take it easy is like a bad joke LOL

i have 2 more days until my next u/s...i can do this....im def taking it easy today...i was unloading the dishwasher and cleaning up the kitchen earlier and i got a stabbing pain in my cervix...it def stopped me...seriously felt like i was just stabbed with a knife in the pelvic area...OUCH

im not sure what is going on but i dont want to elevate this...i could go to the ER but im not spotting so im gonna try to hold out 2 more days....could these be BH?

i had issues dialating with my son so i never had BH (that i felt anyway)...i have no idea what to expect...im just worried its too soon to be having these issues...im trying to keep her in there til at least 35 weeks :/

Not only have I been having the pressure, but I've been having sharp shooting pains in my cervix, my vagina feels sore (probably from increased pressure/swelling), I have massive hip pain  that I attribute partially to sciatic pain and partially to the hormone relaxin..I have loose hips anyway but with the relaxin loosening joints it makes it worse.  Last night it was radiating up into my lower back and made my left leg feel heavy.  I've also had a lot of BH lately.  Doesn't matter what I'm doing.  I've even woke up having them.  Some are pretty uncomfortable and others are barely noticeable.  My doc said the pains and bh are due to her descending and getting into position for labor.

Unfortunately the aches and pains usually increase with each subsequent pregnancy...I'm screwed if I get pregnany again, I'll just have to wheel myself around in awheelchair LOL

Anyway, I think what you are feeling is normal.  But I would definately mention it to your doc at your appt since they are watching your cervix.

i really dont remember this pressure...and its odd that there is no cramping but i guess also a good sign of no cramping or spotting

i woke up this morning and its not as uncomfortable as yesterday...maybe its just the baby's position...im def not doing that much this weekend until after my u/s on monday so that i will know what is going on....its too early for me to start thinning or dialating

Its funny because I have been having all kind of strange pains in my hips and cervix/thighs/anywhere this little girl decides to put pressure =) and my husband asked if I had this with either of the boys and I told him that waiting for 4 years in between pregnancies it makes it so hard to remember... I know that I never had problems walking or feeling all of this pressure like this with the boys... I have an u/s scheduled Tuesday for my cervix length check and to see how big baby girl is =) YOU are DEF NOT ALONE! LOL!

I have the EXACT same thing going on... My babies have always dropped around 35 weeks but this little girl has been laying low this whole pregnancy... She has definitely dropped though and she is head down so her head is resting on my cervix which causes intense pressure. I also feel it when I get up from sitting down (feels like she drops hard on my cervix and bladder) so I am absolutely positive that she has dropped. I am going to go to my 32 week check up on Tuesday and I will definitely be asking my doctor again about it then.
