I just found out last week that I am expecting and today makes 6 weeks. My doc has put me on this for the first 12 weeks as well due to low levels and having been trying to get prego for over 3 years. I have noticed a difference in my sleep patterns as well, kinda weird.
Doc only explained that my lining is thin so guess that's why, to hold the baby.
Odd he said it's the law. I'll question it next time I see him. I'm due to stop taking the progesterone in 1 1/2 weeks and hope I do not need to take it anymore coz i'm having really bad sleeping patterns from it.
I almost had to take progesterone at the beginning cuz my progesterone level was a little low. Then a few days later they checked it and it went up on its own, so I didnt have to take it. I am now 26w6d :):)
It may be a standard protocal amongst drs to prescribe it in certain situations...you more than likely fall into that...but i doubt its a "criminal" law where you can get in trouble if you deny treatment...
it's not the law at all. I have heard, and know of women on here who have taken progesterone during the first 3 months before of previous miscarriages. It can help make the the lining thicker which is supposed to help keep baby there nad reduce miscarriage. Some doctors say this is why, and others say it doesn't. Some people who have low progesterone levels to begin with have to take them because levels that are too low usually result is miscarriage.
no iv not heard of this x
