Thank you everyone! My further testing date is next Thursday! My head is held high and like I said before I will still love my baby more than anything! Excited about finding out the gender though!!!!
These test are known for their high false-positive rates. Some studies show they are as high as 60% wrong. I was told mine came back abnormal for Trisomy 18 at a 1-13 chance. After many ultrasounds & much worry my doctors have told me they see nothing that would point them to believe my baby is affected. Of course nothing is 100% since I wouldn't have the amnio done as I would not terminate my pregnancy even if the amnio showed he had it & there would be a risk of losing the baby after having an amnio & he may be 100% healthy. I know it does no good to tell you not to worry but try to remember these are screening test not diagnostic test. Prayers for you & baby.
There are a lot of false positives, a lot!
I didn't have the quad screen done...they found there concerns during my 20 week anatomy scan...I had a DNA blood test done and everything came back normal. I know it's hard not to worry but try not too, I've heard of a lot of false positives on the early quad screen tests. Unless they see anything else to back it up on the ultrasound, everything is probably just fine :)
All my results came back negative but still had high risk for down syndrome my odds were 1/280
Was stressing like crazy I refused any further testing and last week had my anatomy scan and everything was perfect! And turns out I'm having a girl<3 I've heard nothing but negative things about this test such as sooo many false positives. So many things can throw off your results since its not a test its just a diagnosis.. I would say keep a positive mind set and you and babe will be fine! I know how hard it is! But I'm sure you'll be fine :)
I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow, and it was the quad screening blood test. They said its a 1/96 chance and I'm going to do the genetics testing and more ultrasounds next week. Thank you very much for commenting!
How far along are you and which test did you have done? I was told my baby had a 1/63 chance of having Downs syndrome and had to meet with a genetic counselor...had more testing done and he is just fine...I know there are a lot of false positives on the blood tests.
