and i got pregnant with my son while i was on regular bc... so thats another reason why i was asking...but i will keep you updated.
thanks for clearing that up, and i agree with you completely!! i live in pa, and the doctors in this area are really weird when it comes to certain things... so god only knows what this guy is thinking. i thought that it might be my period also, but just wanted to see if anyone has ever had any experience like this. i read online somewhere that the nuva ring does protect against pregnancy... but is not as effective the first week or so...this what i have found
The ring is thought to be as effective as oral contraceptives. The first time the vaginal ring is used, it is inserted during the first five days of menstruation. A woman should use a backup method for the first week, because the ring is not effective until after seven days of continuous use (unless already using another hormonal method). The effectiveness of a vaginal ring is lowered when taken with certain medications, including antibiotics, St. John's Wort, anti-seizure, tuberculosis, and migraine medications.
its possible to get pregnant while on birth control its happend before and its gonna happen again :) and usually brown blood is old blood so Yes I do think its very possible still but hey thats just my opinion :) :) :)
Gotcha.. I guess my point is that I highly doubt you are pregnant because Nuvaring prevents pregnancies. You had said above
"the nuva ring is not really effective as far as protecting against pregnancy..."
And that is just totally inaccurate. I just wanted to make sure you knew that. It sounds to me like the brownish blood may be your period, When you take nuvaring out, it is meant to "prompt" AF.. Maybe your Dr. thought that putting you on that for some time would regulate your body, causing you to eventually ovulate on your own, but ttc while you have nuvaring inserted doesn't make any sense.. I would ask your dr. more specifics. I don't blame you for being a little confused!!
GL and keep us posted when you get in touch w/ your dr.
i know all of that... but thank you... i know its birth control... like i said.. my doctor has me so confused why he has me on it... but he told me to put it in for 3 weeks, leave it out.. i should get my period... and do not insert another one. He is just trying to basically make my body ovulate because i have no ovulated on my own in 3 years... and i know alot of the symptoms of preg are the same as pms... i havent had a period on my own in almost a year... all brought on by provera...and thats why im so confused because i dont remember what it is like to get it on my own
You may want to check this out. The nuva ring is definitely birth control...
"What Is NuvaRing?
NuvaRing® is a comfortable, flexible ring about 2” in diameter. You insert it into your vagina once a month* — the exact position isn’t important for it to work. Once inside, NuvaRing® releases a continuous, low dose of hormones to prevent pregnancy.
NuvaRing® is as effective as the Pill when used as directed, but you don’t have to take it every day. You leave NuvaRing® in place for 3 weeks, then remove it for a 1-week ring-free period. You should get your period during this “week off.” (Using NuvaRing® as prescribed, you will continue to be protected from pregnancy during the ring-free week.) Exactly 1 week after you take NuvaRing® out, you insert a new one."

its not that i want to be on bc... my doc is trying to regulate my periods...the nuva ring is not really effective as far as protecting against pregnancy...so my doctor is trying that before he puts me on clomid.. i have no clue why he is...that is just what he is doing... im sorry if you are confused but so am i!!
i think its possible, i dont know much on birth control soo i couldnt tell you about that sorry but like i said its very possible soo i wish you good luck and lots of baby dust :)
Isn't the nuva ring birth control? I am confused now? You say you bd'ed all month, but if you had a nuva ring in place, why would you think you were pregnant in you were actively using bc?
