Stretch marks are definitely genetic. Keeping any lotion and high hydration will keep your skin hydrated and help them, but will not stop them. As for after (because I care about my belly, as well, I think we all do, it's just not up to us) I used mederma, it's a scar therapy, you can buy it special for stretch marks, but just the reg. mederma works just as good, really helps. I agree, don't try to look at it as a negative thing, we can't help it, so might as well have the best attitude possible, and they'll fade even without any treatment!
Well, my OB said stretch marks are genetic and stretch mark cream can help reduce them but not keep them away... http://www.webmd.com/baby/features/stretch-marks-getting-under-your-skin
But after you get them there are ways to help them fade etc. I used cocoa butter with my DS my whole pregnancy, and coconut oil, this time around I am using Burts Bees Mama Bees Belly Butter, its amazing stuff!!!! ;)
Try an think of your stretch marks as a reward from your kiddos, so many ppl wish they could be in our shoes... You are a tiger who has earned your stripes;)
Stretch marks arent genetic its about about much elasticity is in ur skin if its low then thats how u get stretch marks. I know i am gonna get them i jus want sumthing to help fade them cuz i already have them and i dont want my belly looking like that and yes even wen my baby is here i will still care about my stomach
Find a L'bri consultant n order some of their aloe based products specifically meant for stretch marks. They are cheap n seem to work well! I think anything hydrating will help a little
I agree with mrsreeder2be, you're going to get them even if you buy a 200 dollar lotion guarenteed to work, if your going to get them, unfortunately. I did find though they faded SIGNIFICANTLY after I had my son, and mederma does help to fade them quicker.
You can buy all the lotions and creams in the world, but if you're going to get stretch marks they won't help. They are genetic and there's nothing you can do to prevent them. Good news is they do fade, and once baby comes you won't even care! :)
I used palmers stretch mark cream all through my first pregnancy and didnt get one stretch mark.... And am using it again.
