using the drug clomid and getting pregnant??

I am 24 years old i have a 5 1/2yr old daughter.  my husband and i have been trying to have another child now for almost 3 yrs.  we did it the old fashioned way at first and then we seeked medical help.  my husband and i were both tested and he has a very good sperm count, the problem was me.. i don't ovulate all the time that's why i was getting irregular periods for years i just didn't realize it was a problem.  i think it was june last year they put me on clomid to enduce ovulation and i'm on the lowest dose 50 mg and it's working great.  For all u women who know what clomid does and how much of a pain it is to go to a fertility clinic (long drives everyday of the week from days 11 to whenever u ovulate, blood and ultrasounds awwwwwww i could scream.  so i did the first 6 month treatment and Nothing!! they took me off clomid to give my ovaries a break and started me back up again in january so i'm on my 2nd month of the 6 month treatment again.
i have yet to concieve and i've started to notice that most of the women in the clinic that i go to haven't become pregnant either!! at first i was upbeat and thought that yeah this is going to work, but i'm not thinking like that now.  i have yet to meet a woman who concieved while using the same drug as i am.
please if anyone has been on the drug or knows someone on the drug clomid and concieved please tell me i'm losing hope.

I used Clomid for 2 months and then stopped. The month after I stopped using it I got pregnant. Unfortunately I did miscarry because my doctor was not on top of things and did not prescribe progesterone supplements for me.

Is there a reason behind why you're not ovulating? Perhaps if whatever is preventing proper ovulation is treated you'll stand higher chances of conceiving. Most women are told not to take Clomid for more than 6 months because it has inconclusive data about how it will affect you and your future children (one of the reasons I decided to stop taking it after 2 months).

I know how frustrating all of this can be. I am pregnant after my miscarriage and everything is going great this time around. I guess my ovaries decided to just start working on their own after the loss. But I also have PCOS and have been losing weight and treating that, so that's probably the main reason I was able to conceive this little one.

i conceived on my first round of 50 mg clomid and am 6 months pregnant. i was ovulating every 45 days or so, so we gave it a try and it worked right away.
sounds like clomid is working if it is making you ovulate (are you temping, using OPKs to show you ARE ovulating?)...It seemd it just isn't "working" in terms of getting you pregnant. What has your doctor had to say about this?
