read your post and was wondering what DHA was? My wife is 8 weeks and she is taking Centrum New Prenatal and the contents has no DHA?
Wow yeah you should definitely get a prenatal. Folic acid is good, but there may be other nutrients the baby needs he may not be getting from that particular pill. If you're looking for a specific brand, I use Brainstrong, which includes DHA (good for their little brain development), but most of the major prenatal vitamins will give you what they need.
When pregnant, I took a prenatal, an Omega 3, and folic acid (extra from what was in the prenatal). Iron is also a good idea, if the prenatal doesn't have 100% of the daily recommended dose.
You should be taking prenatal vitamins (they contain folic acid).
you should still be on the same vitamins. and continue taking them while breastfeeding.
