what can i do tp minimize the chances of the umbilical cord harming my baby????

I've heard so many different stories about the cord hurting the baby. I'm not sure on what's true and what's not. Any advice???

Yeah. The chances rank up there about like gettin struck by lightning. At least that's what I was told

Yes it can happen but chances of it happening are very very low. So sorry you went thru that.

It's very rare tho and there is nothing u can do to prevent it. Just keep an eye on fetal kicks. I'm now 27 weeks and trust me, very very careful

That's not true. I had a stillborn four years ago because his cord wrapped around his neck. While it doesn't cut off the air so to speak it can cut off circulation.

The cord can't hurt baby. I have read lots about this lately cuz my mom was asking also. So the cord is actually really thick like a cable and even if it gets wrapped around babies nick can't strangle because they get their oxygen thru cord not mouth until they r born. But its also thick so they can't squeeze it creating problems for themselves. Hope that is all clear. Some 25-35% of all baies have cord around their neck at birth tho and dr will normally either cut it during labor if its creating problem or unwrap so they can deliver it.
