if i think i could have gotten pregnate the day before my period started (olny had that period for 2 days and it was light) would i have to wait a whole month till my next period to find out if im pregnate or do i just have to wait the 2 weeks? i ask this because all the pregnancy tests say to take them the first day of your missed period

Well you normally don't get pregnant the day before your period.  You have to be ovulating in order to get pregnant which for most people normally occurs about 14 days after your LMP figuring you have a 28 day cycle.  The only way it is possible to get pregnant the day before your period is if you have PCOS which causes the egg to release at any time and not when you think your ovulating.  It is possible that you did get pregnant and you just had implantation bleeding or breakthrough bleeding.  You can probably take a pregnancy test now and see if it comes up positive or negative.  If it comes up negative you can take another one in like 2-3 days.  If it comes up negative I would wait until your next period is due to test or if you really feel like you are pregnant you can call your MD and have him check your blood levels.  Good luck.
