Alot of people say bad things about it but me personally I haven't tooken any nauseas pills even though I was prescribed them. I feel like zofran doesn't cause birth defects has the news is really saying. Who knows next year it just might be the other nausea pills being talked about on tv. I wouldn't worry about it I heard alot of women who did take it and their babies came out fine
I was prescribed it but turned it down. There isn't actual evidence of these lawsuits BUT FDA did put out an updated warning against it.
I have heard of women who have taken it and their baby came out fine but I still refuse to take prescribition drugs doctor approved or not.
I took it my whole first pregnancy my daughter is just fine...she just was in the hospital for un related issues and now they gave her zofran and shes 8 months old so im pretty sure it must be pretty safe if they gave it to her
There's been babies born with cleft lips that have no issues in their family history of those along with heart and kidney failure...
Yeah I was prescribed zofran but didn't take it! The nurses I work with said it can cause birth defects like cleft lip and stuff.. They've heard of it happening and I just didn't want to risk it. I got it filled but didn't take one pill
I take it almost every day as I was nauseated and couldn't keep anything down. I'm 17 weeks now and I dint have any other options. I personally checked with 4 other obs/gynecologist and they said fine to take it plus I had to go to a consultant physician regarding gastritis and he too asked me to take it. Still I'm worried with what people say about yet I take it to eat properly for my baby.
I was prescribed it as well but never took it because of all the stories that have come out. When i told my doctor i never took it for the reason she kind of laughed and she said she took it her whole pregnancy and her baby is healthy. There have been a lot of cases i read of healthy babies or babies that have had problems. If there was evidence of it causing birth defects im not sure why doctors would still be prescribing it
I took it for a couple weeks until I saw the health regulations on it and didn't wanna risk it. After all, it is best to deal with the nausea naturally it was really terrible but once it stops you forget all about it
I know it causes birth defects I stopped taking it I see all over the television about people who Sue due to it the doctors don't tell you that it can cause birth defects
All the commercials are for money...they also have them about certain birth controls... And ive known many woman who were on the birth controls and never had issues... Its.basically Any drug they can find one person that has complications and use it to get money...
Yeah honestly it might sound crazy but not all doctors are in your best interest, they get a profit from prescribing medicines same with psychologist. I agree with newmomma_2015 it's best to deal with it naturally, I mean women in other countries that don't have the same health opportunities and women from other centuries have all delt with it naturally. My friend went her whole 40 weeks with "all day" sickness not once took any meds I had it up to 20 weeks and didn't take any
A lot of pregnant women take it and have normal, healthy babies. Only in some cases does it cause cleft lip or other issues. I'll put it this way: all medications have possible side effects. Even if just ONE person has an issue when they are testing the medication they have to tell people about it to protect against law suits and such. I personally have known multiple women who took zofran while pregnant and their babies are perfectly healthy. Chances are your baby will be perfectly healthy as well.
