Anyone else having hip/groin/back pains?

Just wondering if I'm the only one who has pain in my hip/pelvic area that seems to reach across to my lower back as well? Feels like my pelvic is going to split open when I walk and all this just started a few hours ago lol! I'm 31 weeks pregnant and so far haven't had anything but pain in my feet and some minor back pain that doesn't last more than an hour at the most. Any Insight?

My first pregnancy I was in a wheelchair at this point due to the hip pain. This time around i am doing much better but still have quite the tender pubic bone.

I found that using a yoga ball to sit on was a world of help and it is nice to be able to rock your hips side to side.

I get it really bad, too.  Fortunately it isn't as bad this pregnancy as it was with my last (2nd pg).  They sent me to physical therapy and a chiropractor and nothing really helped.  The chiro told me it was the hip joints loosening up for labor so they slide around.  He would "pop" everything back into place but told me that the relief wouldn't last long because the joints would move back out of place quickly... he was right :o(  It is definitely worse when I've been on my feet for too long.  I am trying to take it easy this time around and that seems to be helping.

Must be the 31+ week mark that makes this occur... I've had these pains as well this week.. the muscles and joints feel like they are streching and the hip pain at night *****!!

I had to get up several times to stop the pain- cause I can only lay on one side or the other... I have a Dr appoint Thurs, so I will see what she says.. I guessing it is all normal and hoping this baby girl too is head down so I can safely VBAC!!

From what i've read it's called Round ligament Pain.
I started getting it last week (31 weeks) and it feels like someone kicked me in the groin.
If i'm sitting i'm fine, but when I get up to walk it hurts bad. Its all across the groin/hips area and definitely internal. Sitting back down relives the pain. From what i've read all you can do is sit with feet up for relif, with some tylenol. Taking a warm bath helps too.
They say it can be pain in the groin or sometimes a shooting pain. Either when getting up or from walking.

I will discuss this with my OB tommorow but I am certain it is that.

I've just been taken off work for pelvic pain. My dr. says that the ligaments on the right side of my pelvis have loosened too much causing things there to shift and cause severe pain. It gets so bad sometimes that I need help to stand up and walk. The only cure of course is to give birth and have my hormones (which were responsible for the loosening ligaments) to get back to normal. I have been doing some pelvic floor strengthening exercises and they really have helped with the pain. Well those and not being up and running all day.

if you can get to a pregnancy yoga class, they can show you all kinds of stuff to help your back and hips.  well worth it if there is one in your area you can make :)

smjmekg - yup, hurts when I walk too lol!! I have to rest from grocery shopping! When I went to the doc last week she pressed on my pubic bone and it hurt and she said that was good that it meant everything was softening up for labor!! I was kinda excited lol!

Happynifer - Thanks, I'll try some of those and see if it helps! I've heard that stretching does help but wasn't sure which stretches were safe!

yep me too.
pelvic rocks help tremendously....
otherwise known as the yoga poses cat and cow.
basically you get on your hands and knees.  cow is when you let your belly sag down low and let your back curve in.
cat is when you tuck your pelvis and arch your back like a cat.
i do several of these in the morning and just before bed....
also there are lots of yoga groin stretchs that help a lot.

YEP!!! Been having it a couple weeks now, it gets SO much worse if I've been walking around a lot, even to go to the store...by the time I'm done getting a few things...OW!!! I'm guessing it's just everything starting to spread and make room for baby to come! I didn't have any of it with my first, but he was breech...maybe this means she's head down!
