I am with you here. When I want to eat (which is rare) I want fish. I ate tuna for the first time in like three years the other day. Fish, shrimp and strangely cereal. Most of the time it takes all I have in me to choke down anything. I have never felt this sick before and this is my fourth pregnancy. (2 girls and 1 mc)
Fish......
Yesterday I actually went out to get fish for luch. Then when I was making dh lunch this morning, a tuna sandwich (I hate tuna) I finished the can with a fork at 6am.
I adore roasted brocolli with olive oil and sea salt. yummy!
Cauliflower roasted in the oven with olive oil sea salt and cracked pepper and oregano! I need it like every other day. Roast it for 20 min on 450...soooooo good! ( I never ate that before now)
I totally agree with mjmom69! I can (without being nauseous) eat bread and pierogies. Pretty much everything else stirs things up and makes my day miserable.
New craving---skinny cow mint chocolate chip ice cream cone sundays....yummmm
I know what you mean.. I am the same way. I can eat and keep food down no problem but nothing actually looks good.. and whenever I am hungry I cant decide what to eat! lol the one thing I have been really enjoying though is chocolate milk.. try that!
I'm not having cravings. I'm the opposite. I can't find anything to eat. Nothing sounds good and I REALLY can't eat ANY ground beef! Blah! About the only thing that I really like is egg salad and marinara sauce.
I am not craving anything yet. Food makes me sick. I can't wait to enjoy food again.
nothing. no food please. And do not cook around me...yuck. I thought I was going to die yesterday while cooking an egg for our son. My poor husband is dealing with me using all the meals I have frozen as I just can't even look at food right now. I have lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks...oi. I do my best to get food into me especially because I am still nursing, so I need the calories.
When I was pregnant for our son, all I ate was chicken curry ^_^
Last night I did get some kung po chicken down and it was delicious.
vanilla twisted frosty with cookie dough...:)
I've heard the same thing, and actually from an OB nurse I had with my son. She said she'd seen women who craved things like soap and chalk (like chalk board chalk). I don't remember what it was in them but it's because they needed it in their bodies.
I wouldn't go overboard on the bad for you stuff, and this advice is specifically for the first time mommies-to-be. I gained 35-40 lbs with DS, and I still have 30 to go before I lose it all...not everyone is like those lucky ones that drop every pound once baby comes out. I couldn't breast feed like I wanted with DS because I wasn't producing enough but my friend lost the 120 lbs she gained (yikes) with her first. So enjoy your cravings, but in moderation is what I say.
I have a love for tomatoes now. It started right before I found out I was pregnant. Now I can't get enough. I want to make dinners that require tomatoes. Last night we had tacos with lots of tomatoes on them.
Why does everything taste like eggs?!?!
I want McDonalds.
i try to eat healthy for breakfast and lunch and healthy snacks...then for dinner i eat whatever i crave :) or if i eat unhealthy for lunch then ill eat a healthy dinner. Then i wont feel so guilty and know that i have gotten in my fruits or vegetables for the day.
For those that are like me & dont like alot of dairy & need to get in calcium...fruit&yogurt parfait from mcdonalds are SO good...and i dont like yogurt at all. It taste like icecream and has 18% calcium, and is good for you and your little bean !
I find it hard for me to get in the calcium i am supposed to be taking in...
generally speaking cravings fall into the categories of sweet or salty. When this happens the body is signaling that it needs more glucose (for energy) or sodium ( for electrolyte balance).....Or so the PhD that teaches my Anatomy and Physiology class has said.
1angelbabyM - I heard somewhere that you shouldn't deny yourself your cravings!! Also heard that if you're craving something then it must have something in it that the baby...or your body needs!! Not positive though, any1 else know?
I crave anything and everything that is bad for you!!! I want burgers and fries and fried chicken!! My wastline will not agree with these cravings much longer!! I was craving fruit but evertime I ate it, it tasted BAD so I don't crave it anymore!! I just want to eat the most unhealthy things and I need to not because it's not good for me or the baby!!
Ground beef...I HATE ground beef, the smell of it used to make me sick I hated it so much, but now it's like I HAVE to have it, that and seasoning salt, it makes everything smell so good!!
crysandjeff~~~I'm the same way, nothing sounds good, and I can't ever decide on what I want...
wymzikal~~~You just made me want fries, lol. We don't have a real McDonalds here..we have a Korean McDonalds, but only 22 more days and I'll be in the states again!!!
The only thing I've actually craved was a couple days before my BFP I wanted a salad with my over easy eggs(went with sausage and toast instead because it sounded too weird), and that night DH made the hot dogs with cheese in them, and I cut mine up and made a salad with them in it...lol. I've also wanted an Arby's roast beef with cheese...mmm...I'm hungry!!! I just don't know what to eat...nothing I have looks good at all!
McDonald's french fries... mmmmmmm
and I hadn't had Mickey-D's french fries in years...
With my first three pregnancies (9yr old girl,5 yr old girl and miscarriage) I wanted to eat everything all of the time. Im glad to hear I am not the only one, maybe we are having boys.
thats when i get my nausea...when i am hungry, and after i eat. Mine is more so in the evening then in the morning. Nothing sounds good to me except for chili dogs&fried pickles which is too unhealthy to make a habit of eating :)
So...i feel your pain !
