Water broke and delivered my baby at 34weeks!

I had my baby boy on Sunday, January 9th at 2:43pm weighing 5lbs and 18.5 inches.  He was 34weeks to the day and he's now in the NICU but stable and doing fine.  
My water broke on Saturday at 2pm  (they think because the SCH clot had weakened my bag of membranes) so they wanted me to hold off labour as long as possible (up to 48hours) so I could get more steroids for baby's lungs but it was progressing and I held out just over 24hours but he wanted to come so out he came!
He's so tiny but so perfect.  What a miracle.  I hope and pray that he doesn't have any long term effects from being born so early and that our stay in the NICU is not too stressful.

congratulations!! i read your post like an hour ago and got so caught up into posting something else i completely forgot to leave a comment!! i am soooo glad everything went fine and i have to agree with trying hes pretty big for only 34 weeks you are one lucky mama... i hope your stay at the nicu is as short as possible and you get to take your little bundle of joy home to actually enjoy him!! im sure its spr exciting finally meeting him...

Forgot to mention my friend had her baby boy at 35 weeks and he was only in the nicu for 4 days(same amount she was in the hospital, she has a c-section)  Hopefully you will have a short stay as well!

Congrats mama!! I am so happy to hear that all went well. I'm sure that your little boy will be home with you soon. Let me know if you need to talk or have any questions because I feel like a NICU expert by now lol. So what did you decide on naming him?

Oh my gosh. everyone really is going early! how wonderful baby is doing good in the NICU. so glad to heat there are no problems. congratulations and so happy for you :)

Thanks so much for your posts!  We STILL haven't named him!!!!!! It's so hard because we have 2 other boys with first and middle names and this one was so early that we hadn't even really discussed names....I think we're getting closer but I'll post when it's official!
