Back pain anyone?

I have this awful back pain from sitting for more than an hour at a time (which is inevitable because I have an office job). Once it starts hurting I try and reposition myself but just cant seem to get comfortable. Anyone else with back pains yet?

Yea I suppose the twins are causing a lot of pressure on my back as well as the extra weight that I havent had before. I have had a little pre-pregnancy back pain because I am taller and also I waited tables for many years while in school. I feel fine on my feet being out and about but when I sit I just get super uncomfortable and my back starts aching. Even lying on the couch these days I have to re-position myself over and over again to get comfortable. I guess it's something I have to get used to for the next few months. Thanks ladies for the advice.

It's definitely getting harder to sit for long periods of time. I try to stay off my feet because they are swelling if I stand too much but then my back will get a little sore if I sit too long. Vicious cycle. However, I started getting massages regularly and have actually felt great the past few weeks. Hope you start feeling better, although with two, you body is taking twice the pressure.

FYI if your OB gives you a rx your insurance co should cover physical therapy during pregnancy. Many women do PT during pregnancy for pain :) they should even know great PT's who have training in working with pregnant women. The only drawback is that after working all day do any of us really want to get off our butts and do PT?  I know I don't I feel so lazy lol.

I am there with all three of you!! but like worshipper i had this pre pregnancy.. due to a car accident, i was supposed to get physical therapy for it but... i was doing it for my knee and my insurance would not cover both... so.. i have had this same pain for 5 yrs now and its worse now that little one is growing... i try back rubs but hubby isnt too good about giving them.. he is always too tired.. but anyways... i work with 15 2yr olds daily and chasing them around all day doesnt help the problem.. i guess i have been dealing with the pain so long that i no longer complain about them... :(

I have terrible back pain also.... I threw my back out doing laudey at 12 weeks and it's been terrible ever since.... I do 2 warm baths a day and daily back rubs from df.... I rest a lot... Avoid stairs as much as I can.... Its cause your body is so off balance your ligaments are softening I also got a maternity support belt which I try to wear as much as possible and it works wonders... It totally lifts the weight

YES!!!  But I had that pre pregnancy. But if anyone understands back pain it's me!  For every 50 min you sit get up and walk and stretch te best you can that should help. Don't let your legs dangle make sure they can touch the floor or a stool. Put a pillow against the small of your back when you sit. Heat can help too. A warm bath with Epsom salts which you can buy cheap at CVS or Walgreens relax muscles and are great for the back pain. I hope this helps. OH and make sure if you sleep on your side at night that you have a pillow between your legs to keep your back and hips in alignment. You can also try acupuncture or chiropractors both are safe in pregnancy. Also prenatal massages but make sure your ask your OB before getting massaged and go to a place that is licensed for prenatal massage :). I have a million tricks for back pain, temperpedic matress pad and pillow, firm mattress, stretch before bed and take a warm bath with epsom salts, yoga can help... I could go on and on lol. But truly I understand your pain!
