Just got the email for the holiday work party...this year at the bosses big house on the ranch. Last year there was about 100-150 people but it was held in the bar/restaurant area. Last year I was still losing my baby weight from my son but could at least fit into my dressy cowboy boots. I have no idea what to do this year! On a ranch in Montana....but a five star resort. I am NOT wearing heels! lol!
Yay!! Can't go wrong with a black dress :). And when you when to go out on the town after babies come you will just have to come to Chicago and our kids will have a sleepover together and you can go be a couple :)
Haha I know, I'm surprised that I haven't locked myself away at home yet either. But surprisingly I am excited to get out and go to the parties. I may say that now and change my mind when the time comes but I figure that these are the things that we wont get to do once the little ones are here. We have no family around and will have to resort to a babysitter which I dont see happening. So we figure we midas well get out and socialize while we can because the only socializing i'll be doing in a few months is baby talk with the twins :)
Thanks for the suggestions ladies!! Luckily I was able to find something cute at JCpenny while out shopping on Black Friday. Got the dress half off for $40!!
I'm just impressed you WANT to get dressed up and go out. I am perfectly happy these days staying in since I'm usually ready for bed by 7. HA! Hope you find/found an awesome dress.
A pea in a pod is very comfy and cute stuff I have a black cocktail dress, jeans and a couple of cute tops by them
Good luck! I tried to find a cocktail dress for a fundraising gala I went to last weekend and couldn't find anything I liked. I bought FIVE dresses online, and had to settle for one of them because I ran out of time...it was not remotely like anything I normally wear to that event or others like it. I LOVE getting all dressed up so having to wear a pretty plain looking dress totally bummed me out. Here's the link to the BORING dress I ended up wearing...http://www.apeainthepod.com/Product.asp?product_Id=15772Z10023&MasterCategory_Id=MC3
I got a black 3/4 sleeve dress from Target in cotton material and I got a knit material one from macy's. I'm going to get thigh high stockings and a cute necklace to go with and I should be good to go. I also got some cute skirts from destinationmaternity (motherhood maternity) email me if you want coupon codes I can fwd them to ya I have a few :)
babiesnbellies.com has some cute dresses for the holidays, not bad pricing...around $35 and up (if its on sale, otherwise it can be pricey..sale/clearencei s the way to go anyway lol). I went to dresses and clicked on "casual & semi-formal dresses".I especially like the red/short "cowel neck dress/tunic" for christmas! and the "suzy kimono" black/short.
motherhood.com has some cute, more basic dresses for like $25 in the "sale/clearence/discount" section.

JC Penney has basic cute dresses too from $25-$35.
