mucous plug...
I know this is TMI but... i have been having a lot more discharge than normal for the past week or so... but today i had wayyyy much more than before... it really left me thinking did i lose my mucous plug? but then again how much do you lose when you do i mean if you were to compare it to an object in size what would you compare it too.. and if i did lose it then should i worry? i have an appointment tomorrow but thought i would get some feedback from you ladies before i go in...
Yay I'm so glad everything is good wannabeamommy and I'm glad to hear baby has flipped around too :) Woohoo! Now let's all keep our babies in for about one month longer ok? :)
Im reading "What to expect when you're expecting".
It says:
a Prelabor Symptom is "Loss of the mucous plug: As the cervix begins to thin and open, the 'cork' of mucus that seals the opening of the uterus becomes dislodged. This gelatinous chunk of mucus can be passed through the vagina a week or two before the first real contractions, or just as labor begins."
:) Sorry to confuse anyone, just sharing what I know/read :):) I spose all docs and what not have different opinions as women have different experiences. :) This is all the knowledge I have on a mucus plug. :\

lol!! sunworshiper it was when i wiped not on my undies... so i guess i did... went to the doc today and everything looks great wont have an ultrasound till 2 wks from now but he felt and said she has apparently flipped and is now head down... havent gained any weight since last appt but hes not concerned and neither am i as i probably lost it somewhere else cause the belly is def growing lol... so im actually kind of glad i maybe losing...
ya the mucus plug really does not mean much to as when labour will start.... I lost mine a 17 weeks and it regenerated and i have been loosing mine over the last week quite a bit... and yes literally just like snot lol it is quite gross lol (the things that men do not have to put up with)
Your muccus plug can regenerate so even if you lose it, it does not mean that you are about to go into labor. Many women will lose it around now and then again in about a month from now. Your mucus plug looks like you blew your nose a lot. It's green sometimes blood stained and it's jelly or jello consistence. Usually you would lose it while on the potty not as discharge.
yea i figured i would be... but i was just wondering if i lost enough or all of it... but i guess ill wait and ask the doc tomorrow lol!!
In my pregnancy book it says that when you lose your mucous plug it means labor is around the corner, either a few days or a few weeks, depending on the person. i think if you have a doctor appt tomorrow then you'll be ok for tonight :) If it makes you feel better, call the OB nurses, they are always helpful and knowledgeable.
