Milestones

What is everyone's babies up to?  Any neat tricks?

Ellie rolled from tummy to back today. Since she was three weeks she rolled from back to her side. She also for a few weeks now has been reaching out and grabbing things. My days of wearing necklaces or my hair down are over :P. Ellie also smiles a lot, coo's and babbles. She loves floating on her back in the bathtub and kicking her legs to splash water. (Ellie is 9 weeks old).

Wondering what all your little peanuts are up to, I'm sure you all are proud mamas dying to tell :)

That is so awesome.  I can't wait for Ella to coo and smile :)

Ella has rolled from tummy to back 3 times since she was 2 weeks.  The first time she did it my mum and sis saw it and yelled for me to come and then my little sunshine did it again.  The third time she did it was yesterday but she kind of just went from her tummy to her side to her back after 2 minutes lol.  I am guessing they were flukes lol but if she is like my other children she'll be crawling by 5-6 months and walking at 9 months eekkk!!!!\\

The only other thing Ella does at 3 weeks is life her head up when she is on her tummy and look around very slowly. I so can't wait for the smiling and cooing but being 3weeks I think I might be a few weeks off :)

Wow Ella is strong!!  I bet you are right she will be walking and crawling early. I think the smiles are the best part, they really make your sleepless nights easier :) I bet she will be smiling and cooing before you know it :)

They actually did a study and found that smiles are not relates to gas at all. So if you see smiles it is the real deal!  There are also "sleep grins" when a child is in light sleep they smile often even just out of the womb. Both are adorable :D

Annabelle holds her head up well and follows the pictures in the book when hubby reads to her. She also is great at cringing every time I sing to her. HA!  We both got a real smile from her last week and love watching her on her play mat. She doesn't coo yet, but she kicks around and gets excited when her feet actually touch something. I realize she has no idea what she's doing, but it's fun to watch.  I can't wait for the real laughs and coos.

my lil emily picked her head up high 2 hrs after being born and still does. she is so strong. when she was 4 days she turned from laying on her back to her side. i quickly got her. i was amazed that she was only 4 days born and she was already turning. i didn't want her to hurt her self. also at 4 days she pits her hands up on to her bottle as if shes holding it.lol days later she holds her paci with one hand. a week ago i was changing her and she was mad she pushed her legs against my thigh and she moved up the sofa every time she would do so.
im so impressed of what she does for a 2 week old baby. you guys may not believe me but please remember my baby was born at 9lb 6oz she is a big baby. she looks like a 2 month baby. she eats 4 oz of formula at 2 weeks old. she is so strong!

Roxy you do have a strong little one!!  I do believe you. Ellie also rolled onto her side that early and held a pacifier (they gave her one in the NICU). I bet she is going to be on the move early! :)

Ezra is doing big smiles and cooing lot... kicking his feet lots.... following me or objects with his eyes... turns his head towards me when he hears me... not trying to grab toys but he likes to look... i have found him on his side a few times... a bath him in a baby bathtub on my bathroom counter and everytime lately he will look in the mirror and and then back to me wondering why there is two of me lol and he seems to be a little jealous of the baby in the mirror lol

I don't think we're going to have a "turning over" milestone any time soon. Annabelle HATES being on her tummy so I don't foresee her going from back to stomach any time soon. Hmmmm, maybe I should put her on her stomach and see if we can get her to roll quickly to her back. Or is that just torturing my child??

aww cute everyone has something exciting going on. :) Leila held her head up for about 10 min the second they put her on my chest after she was born. She wouldnt put it down she just wanted to stare at me. She has started to laugh and smile at us now. She coos and talks to us all the time. I cant get enough of it!. I love making her smile. Shes also been starting to roll from her back to her side for awhile. Not makingn too much progress lol. She sure is trying to run away though, lots of kicking and moving all over on her back, strengthening those muscles. Shes 7 weeks old.

Ellie kicks and wiggles too like she is trying to escape. The other day she was on her tummy trying to crawl and wiggle and I was telling her resistance is futile there is no escape and she rolled over I guess that shut me up lol!  She is hating tummy time lately though so we do tummy time laying on my tummy which she enjoys.

Ellie also says something that sounds like hi and she says ma now too.

Trh if she cries when you put her on her tummy don't force the issue is what I have read. I don't know if your pedi would say different though. You can also try tummy time with her laying on your tummy. Ellie is good with tummy time that way but hasn't been into tummy time on her play mat in the last week or so.

It's amazing how strong all of our babies are and how quickly they are growing up!!

Both of my babies are growing like weeds! I have to remember they were born 8 weeks early, so milestones for them seem to come a little later than what's considered average. But, both babies can hold their heads up really well, they can follow a voice with their eyes and head, they kick/wiggle and can stand when you hold them by the arms. They also love to look in mirrors and Carly can somewhat scoot herself around when she's on her tummy. I'll lay her in one spot & come back and she's in another! They both smile like crazy anytime my hubby or I make noises or just talk to them. It's amazing!

We had success at tummy time. She doesn't LOVE it but she will stay on her tummy, hold her head up, and try to look around. That's a LOT of work for a baby  :-)  Annabelle has started smiling all of the time now. Well, except when she decides to scream. HA! And she's talking.. making all kinds of silly little sounds, especially when she's on her play mat.

Yay Brandi!!!  I love hearing about the twins sounds like they are doing great!  They say for preemies you start expecting milestones based on due date not delivery date (that's what we were told with Ellie being preemie).

Trh CONGRATS!  Yay for tummytime. Ellie hates tummy time now :P silly baby

Ella is doing really good apart from crying a million times a day lol.  She will be 3 months on the 28th and is doing heaps already.  Ella can roll both ways but when I say that she doesn't lie on the ground and roll around heaps, if I put her on her back she will roll to her tummy although she hasn't figured out how to pull her arm out yet lol.  She was rolling from tummy to back unintentionally at 2weeks but did more frequently at 6 weeks.

Ella has started lifting up her head and reaching for toys now.  She can grab at toys and hold them but I don't think she realises she is holding a toy or has made that connection yet.  She loves eating her hands now lol so I assume she has realised she has hands.  She gives us lots of smiles but I don't think she is cooing just yet and if she does it is only a one off.

Apart from that she is doing really good and growing really fast.
