OMG even my calves are fat!

So I am only a little over 8 weeks but am gaining weight and puffing up like crazy. Last night, my husband and I finally went out for a pregnancy celebration dinner (we were waiting for a successful 8 week ultrasound, which we had on Wednesday). It is rainy and cool here in Seattle right now so I wore some boots with my dress. I could barely zip them up and once I got the zipper to the top, my skin was all pinched up - like little fat rolls just below my knees! DISGUSTING! Do they make maternity BOOTS?!?!

I can say ditto to a few of these comments:

1. I'm pleased to say I'm pregnant, but due to how much I've gained, I'm pretty vague about my due date.
2. I never had an a** before, hubby thinks it's great.. me, not so much
3. E-cup already... Nan went to an F and stayed there... God Help me!
4. Big Girl/Granny panties.. Yep, I'm wearing em....

My husband and I are pretty social folks so we've seen a lot of people over the past few weeks. I can guarantee they are speculating more because I'm fat than because I'm not drinking. Plus I have to go to work every day and I think I catch my assistant eyeing my big fat stomach a couple times a day. I'll finally be letting the cat out of the bag with my immediate family next week - that will be a big relief. I'm actually surprised my mom hasn't said anything to me about how fat I've gotten - she and a bunch of other members of my family saw me in a two-piece swimsuit last weekend! I was just waiting for someone to say something. I'm wondering if maybe because my husband and I have been married for 11 years and we're 35 years old, everyone just assumes we aren't having children and just think I've let myself go after my 35th birthday (it was in May). :)

Honesty, I avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. I don't think I've ever spent this much time at home but my pjs are so darn comfortable! My boobs haven't grown at all, and that's alright by me  :-)  Thankfully I'll be starting my 2nd trimester when school starts again, so maybe I won't feel so ridiculous walking around with my belly poking out then. It will still be kind of early to look at big as a I do, but at least I can offer an explanation whereas now I just pray I don't see anyone I know when I do actually go out.

I'm not only having the butt issue but also the boob issue. I tried putting on a dress the other day that I used to wear casually and I couldnt get the dang thing past my boobs. And when I did it cut off my circulation to my chest and made them look like pancakes. Gross! I'm with Sunworshiper and will be sticking to my pajamas while at home for the rest of these 5-6 months.

I told my husband a couple weeks ago that I felt like my stomach was higher, too, and he said he could even see a difference. It has since gone back to normal, but it was definitely up high for a day or two. Totally weird. I have a giant *** that I just can't get used to. My butt has always been pretty flat...both my husband and I were laughing on Sunday when I was trying to pull a skirt on and my butt was making it almost impossible!

I think I've leveled out a bit too, but losing 5 pounds this past week probably had a lot to do with that. I feel like my stomach is being pushed up. Is that weird? It's like above my belly button is stomach and below it is baby.

White?!?  Oohhh I am SO sorry :( I'm a size 6 dress usually and tan w blond hair and I still HATE wearing white. Really white dresses should be banned from existance except for weddings. White makes me feel like a fat cow.

So far I've been able to avoid clothing shopping at all cost thank goodness because I know it would be super depressing. I basically live in pajama pants right now since I'm feeling so sick and rarely leaving the house except to lay out on the back deck for a few mins for fresh air.

Some of you ladies are getting SO close to the end of your first trimester!!  So freakin excited for you all!  I'm 8.5wks and like you ladies just can't wait till I can share our awesome news and I can wear big comfy clothes with no shame. I still haven't gained any weight but my lower tummy is starting to look a little puffy and i had to buy big panties lol like granny panties!! XL! :O

I've finally lost that "IVF bloat", but since I've gained weight that wasn't just the bloat, I'm still feeling chubby. I don't feel nearly as fat as I was feeling previously, though.  Wow - kudos to your husband!  I HATE shopping even when I'm not fat, so now I'm a million times more miserable and can't imagine my poor husband suffering through the experience of me trying on big clothes that are still snug.

I had to buy a WHITE dress yesterday. Talk about depressing. White already looks bad on just about everyone, unless you're super skinny and very tan, neither of which apply to me. I felt worse for my poor husband. He wanted to go with me. I actually think he was worried I'd have a complete meltdown and wanted to help me if that occurred. Luckily I didn't cry-- at least not in public. Saved it for the dressing room. But he went store to store and never complained once. He even tried to help pick a few things out until I told him I was fat and couldn't wear the sizes he was picking. Eventually found what I needed, thank the Lord. Then I had the pleasure of running into two students. I'm sure it's all over Facebook now how I looked 5 months pregnant. Lovely.

I tried to go shopping yesterday, but it was so depressing that clothes that would normally be too big were tight that I only tried on two dresses and then high-tailed it out of the mall. Can't wait until I'm past the first trimester so I can start sharing my news and wearing maternity clothes without shame!

Ladies I'm exact opposite. All of this morning sickness has me on a weight loss plan :P. At first before food became my enemy I felt slightly bigger but the scale hadn't moved it was all that water I have been downing or was downing 24/7. But when I felt that way I was all about the skirts. They are amazing bc they always seem to fit. I bet the boots weren't fitting because of water weight. Oh some peoples feet change size in pregnancy so while no maternity shoes it might be a whole new shoe wardrobe for some of us.

I am already 60 lbs. overweight so the baby isn't wreaking any havoc on me. I will say though it is nice to actually be pregnant when someone asks now.

I hate going out in public, too! Especially because I have to wear dresses all the time and people probably think I'm overdressed, even though a few of my dresses are pretty casual. I told my husband after a bbq at a friend's last weekend that I could pretty much guarantee everyone was talking about me possibly being pregnant after we left because I have gotten so fat - even my face! Yuck!

You crack me up. Not that you're feeling fat but just the way you say it! I feel so BIG. I don't even want to go out because I look 5 months pregnant and don't want anyone to ask for fear I'll lie and tell them I am. HA! And my DH keeps rubbing my belly thinking it's cute. I don't have the heart to tell him to stop because he is beyond excited about all of this. It's just when you feel 5 times your normal size someone rubbing your belly isn't all that comforting. I'm so glad I have summer vacation for another 5 weeks so I can get use to all of this before facing the masses.
