gender party

im planning to gather up my family and my hubbys family for a lil gender party. where we all could find out at the same time the babys gender with a gender cake. when the cake is sliced its either pink or blue in the inside (pink if its a girl blue if its a boy) im sure you guys have heard of this before. my next ultrasound is on oct 13 and ill be 19 weeks by then. the doc said they will most likely be able to tell the sex by then. im also thin, don't know if that helps see the baby better.

my question is should i wait for another ultrasound/gender party later on to have an accurate answer about the babies sex? or do u think ill get an accurate answer on the 13 of oct when ill be 19 weeks?

i could honestly say i can't wait to find out the babies gender but if u think i should wait... im sure i will for an accurate answer plus i don't want to spend money on a party when the gender is not going to be correct.

Good luck at your u/s and I also hope that the baby cooperates and has it's legs wide open. We had our confirmation scan and its still two girls so I think your safe at 19- 20 weeks. I cant wait to hear what your having!

Ive checked the calendar again and ill be 19 and 5 days the day of my ultrasound. 2 more days and ill be 20 weeks so im guessing its pretty accurate, right?. so im hoping lil baby doesn't have his/her legs cross because i really want to find out what im having. so im having the gender party if he or she is not too shy to show. ;)

I think you will be fine at 19 weeks to have the gender party. We found out at 18 weeks and are getting re-confirmed today at 20 weeks. I will let you gals kow how it goes. Plus, if you put off the party even longer it will be creaping into the holidays and I think the date you have set now sounds perfect. Let us know what you decide! Good luck!

Usually they are correct at that point but like rccesswell said it's not 100%. Your girl could end up being a girl or the other way around. Or your baby could keeps it's legs closed tight so they can't tell :P. My friend her baby kept it's legs shut the entire pregnancy so she never could find out the sexy even though she wanted to lol.

So the short answer is it's not completely accurate until baby comes out ;)

I'm pretty sure they are most accurate between 18 and 20 weeks.  I know when I found out my second was a girl the sonographer wouldn't say 100% because she said sometimes you can misinterpret it.

I think you should wait for a more acurate answer :)
