VENT: military life ***** right now...

my husband is active army, and he recently reenlisted for 3 more years. well when he reenlisted he made sure he told them he would only do it if his orders were made for after february (because obviously thats when im due and we were not planning on moving while 9months pregnant) well when he finally got a date he got a date of feb 10th, and they said it was a mistake and they would fix it just fill out some paperwork and in about a week they would change it... well that was around november 20th, he sent in the extension paperwork and we hadnt heard anything until december 20th when this paperwork got sent back because he needed a copy of his orders (which he hadnt gotten yet) so next day he got his orders and sent in the paperwork right away... well we still haven't gotten any answer about the extension, and everytime he asks they say they dont know... well we need to know!! because if we arent going to get another date then we need to make plans to be in georgia before feb 10th so he can report to work on the 10th, but I am not due till feb 21st so I would have to travel being 36-37 wks along and have to find a hospital and doctor down there in less than 2 weeks... not to mention i would have to drive 7hrs to get there...
OR... stay here and him travel, and risk him not being able to make it to delivery... plus by staying here and him travel we would have to pay rent both places until baby is old enough (2-3 wks) to travel with me...

this also means since as of now he has to be there by the 10th then we need to start looking for a place NOW, but then what if they decide to approve the extension and we have already made plans to go in feb?? ughhh its all just so frustrating.. i hope i made sense...

and sorry for extending myself so much i just needed to vent!!

I agree with sunworshipper that is absolutely terrible.  I'd be hounding them as well

That is really freakin frustrating!!  I'm really sorry. I hope that this all gets straightened out soon. I think it is completely unreasonable that they would expect you guys to move when you will be considered full term and able to give birth at any moment. Not only can you not fly but how the hell are you supposed to travel at all that pregnant?!  I know the military doesn't care :( but it's really frustrating bc your husband is putting his @ss on the line to keep our country safe and free and you guys are the ones getting f*cked!  Not cool!!  I'm really sorry I hope your hubby hounds them day after day until this gets straightened out
