Cant even hold water...

My nausea is out of this world... This will be my first baby, so I can only compare to other failed pregnancies but by golly this is terrible.  I wake up in the middle of the night to vomit, I throw up quite literally EVERYTHING I ingest, including water.  I had always said I was going to eat so healthy and I even have menus planned for when I got pregnant, but now I cannot eat at all. I am concerned about the baby getting what it needs, do you think everything is okay?
I am feeling a little dizzy and light headed, I am sure from lack of food and water, but I dont know what to do. I dont want to call the doc because all they can do is put me on a Rx and I have read to try and avoid those during trimester #1.... I have tried all the so called remedies, do you think I should worry??

Hey sweetie I just wanted to let you know that today at my appoitment I had lost 3 1/2 lbs and my doctor said that i was welcome to have something for the nausea....i didnt even ask he just offered. He gave me Finergan (spelling)...he said it is perfectly safe.   They shouldnt be giving you such a hard time....i'm not even throwing up, just having trouble eating.  you are on the verge of being seriously dehydrated if I were you I would call back up there and demand to speak with the OB personally if they wont help you.   Good luck hun and let me know what they say.

Tell your doctor about their staff because I sure did. I had a nurse accusing me of lying about my wait time (over an hour) and had others on the staff confirm that I was there an hour. I've seen my doc for 10 years and she knows my personality isn't one to complain so I must have been super mad (and I was). I told her that I was going to switch if it happned one more time with her.

Now my RE doc/staff were amazing and super nice (and loved to joke with me). I sent them flowers and chocolate as a 'thank you' to their good service and making the process easier. I'm more than happy to reward and thank those who deserve it. But I also learned that this is our bodies (and baby's) so if things are not right, even if their attitudes are up their yin yang, then I will complain because 9 months is a long time to deal with jerks. Remember, they are in service TO YOU. So they better act like it.

if nothing else maybe you could try some emotrol (spelling? )  It's a nausea med that is over the counter and is pretty much sugar water, I cant imagine it causing any issues with the baby but you should try and Google it.  You can get dehydrated very easily...especially being pregnant.  My son got dehydrated a few months ago from throwing up so much he began to throw up green bile and had to have an IV put in.  What I found worked was giving him one teaspoon of water every 5 minutes until he held it down and then I increased it very slowly to 2 teaspoons every 5-10 minutes, I would give it a try.  If you start to feel like you might be getting dehydrated I would try and call again and if they wont help you or let you speak to the doctor I would go to the ER and ask them to see if you need an IV for fluids.  Remember this is your body and your baby you have to protect...who cares if the nurses think you are crazy....lol :)

Hi Cheesecake.. is there anyway u can email ur Dr directly? We @ Kaiser have this facility and this helps us avoid talking to 20 other ppl who have nothing to give but rude answers. Hope u feel better. You should get some medication to get over this nausea.

I called the doctor and the receptionist told me not to worry about it and it is normal, even the fact that I have lost several pounds and am dizzy.

I am so frustrated because the office staff can be so rude, like I am bothering them or I call too much.  The doctor is really good and I like him, that is what matters I know but still I am frustrated. I dont want to switch doctors because my only other opinion is a group practice where the doctor who delivers is whoever is on call, and I dont like that. I want to keep this doctor because at least then I know who will deliver my baby, and like I said I do like the doctor it is just the office staff that make me feel like some kind of a thorn.
