weeks=how many months?

this is probaby a retarded question but i am confused.ive been trying to seach for an answer online but every site says something different.if u r pregnant for 40 weeks that would technically be 10 months not 9 right?so at 24weeks what month are u actually in?like when somone askes me how far along i am now.i am unsure whather to say 6 months or what?its very confusing cause when u say 24 weeks people say oh so just about 6 months.but accoridng to the websites ud be entering ur 7th month and finishing 6 months.like i said im just confused and it probably isnt even very important but i was just wondering if anyone could clarify it for me..lol..thanx guys!

if you are 27 weeks pregnant then you just started your third trimester...

the easiest way to do that is look at the callander, and see how many months you are by looking at the date when you got your last period till now.

27 weeks is the third trimester (although some publications say it is week 28).  Either way, I think it is safe to say you are in your third next week.  

As far as the months, this is something that has been asked on the larger pregnancy forum several times, and it always gets varying responses, I think it is an opinion thing.  When someone asks me, I always tell them in # of weeks.

wait now im confused..... ill be 27 weeks on monday so I thought that ment ill be 7 months the fallowing week, but am I already considered 7 months? eh, it doesnt matter, when i tell people my due date there always like" youve got a long way to go" which confuses me because I thought i was almost in my 3rd trimaster

I do count from the week you get pregnant, because he doctor does. Matter of opinion I think! Just count however you are comfortable with!!!

in a month there is more than 4 weeks, there is either 4 weeks and 2 days, or 4 weeks and 3 days, so:
1 month: 4 weeks 2 days
2 months: 8 weeks 5 days
3 months: 13 weeks
4 months: 17 weeks 3 days
5 months: 21 weeks 5 days
6 months: 26 weeks 1 day
7 months: 30 weeks 3 days
8 months: 34 weeks 6 days
9 months: 39 weeks 1 day

but you have to remember that you dont count them from the time you get your period, because no one gets pregnant on their period, so you give your self an extra two weeks.

Like you said, there are so many interpretations, but this is how I think about it:

week 1-4 = 7 months

week 5-8 = 2 months

week 9-12 = 3months

week 13-16 = 4 months

week 17- 20= 5 months

week 21-24 = 6 months

week 25- 28= 7 months

week 29-32= 8 months

week 33-36= 9 months

week 37-40= 10 months


I figure it is actually 10 months because some people don't count those first 4 weeks, but technically you are pregnant then since they go from your LMP, even though we didnt know it yet.  

Anyway, thats how I do it!
