38 weeks and still NOTHING

I just got back from my obgyn... she checked my cervix and NOTHING! No softening, no effacement, no dilatation... I'm really discouraged! I was hoping that this baby would come at around 37 or 38 weeks like my 1st boy but I guess he's got other plans!

oh well... I'm really jealous of all you ladies getting early c-sections or inductions!

I was with you ladies where at my 37 week appointment I was a half a centimeter dilated and I thought it would have been a lot more then that with all the BH I was getting but nope nothing really but the 1/2 cm dilation and 0% effacement. I'm actually ok with it now though because I am hoping he goes to his due date. But I can't wait to have him then.

I'm also 38 weeks and I share your frustration! I was only 1 fingertip (1 cm) dilated at my 37 week checkup and was supposed to be induced at 39 weeks because of GD...but at my 38 week appointment Wednesday, my doctor told me I hadn't made any progress and put the induction off another week! I was so disappointed, especially because I'd spend the week walking walking walking and bouncing on an exercise ball to help things move along -- and nothing. Sigh. I'm growing so impatient! But, our bubs will come when the time is right... :)
Hang in there!

Yeah don't get discouraged most first time moms experience the same thing. I myself was 4 centimeters and 100 % effaced with my first and I was in 43 hrs of labor still. It is great your lil man is in no rush. You don't want to be going through what dkl did or some of the other girls. It has been a rough go for them and they have been couped up in the hosp for wks. Remember the grass is always green on the other side. With all this waiting you may have a 5 min delivery! Good luck! Keep me posted.
