Antibiotics and pregnancy

Does anyone know if you can take any sort of antibiotics if you are pregnant? I am having the worlds worst toothache and I know that they are going to want to extract it. My dentist usually will give me antibiotics but what willl he do now if I am pregnant? Can anyone help

I had to take penicillin for Strep B, so I know that's safe. I'm sure there are many other antibiotics that are safe.

There are a handful of antibiotics that are safe during pregnancy. And your doctor will know exactly what to prescribe to you.
I just got off of Zithromax, also known as the Z-Pack because i was so sick. And the doctors assured me it was safe. I also did research online about what antibiotics are safe during pregnancy. Maybe you could start there too.

I agree with dkl I have had reoccuring utis and have had to take 3 antibiotics and they were all safe for the baby. Your dr will know what to prescribe you. If you are nervous you can google and look them up and double check.

Yes, there are many that are okay during pregnancy.  I too had to take 2 doses of antibiotics for a uti (different prescriptions).  When I had a toothache (not while pregnant) my dentist prescribed Amoxycillon (dont know spelling of it) and it's okay to take during pregnancy.

I know for a fact there are many antibiotics that are safe during pregnancy. Infact had to take some in the beginning for a uti, and bronchitis, i was hospitalized.
