My baby can read???

All right girls need to hear your opinions again. What do you think of my baby can read? how useful might be for our LO at this stage? etc.
James used to be a little chatter box when he was around 4-5 months he babbled a LOT ga, ga, ma, ma, etc but for some reason he is not doing it anymore and now he just keeps squealing, cooing, gurgling, ahhhh, mhhhhh, mmhhhh but not da, da, ma, ma (only when he cries) playing wih his voice highs and lows but justthat. We asked the pediatrician and he says he is doing fine that sometimes boys take longer to talk.
I do a lot of reading, pointing out of objects, naming things, colors, shapes, you name it but nothing,  mayeb I overwhelming with me talking all day long.
Ideas??/

Cash had a checkup Friday (19th) and I asked the dr the exact same thing!  He babbled alot using words and now just kind of yells, coos, ahhs, stuff like that.  The dr. said it was perfectly normal and like your dr. said he said statistically boys talk later than girls.  We read every day, point things out and have conversations.  I think our babies are doing just fine and I was really reassured by Cash's pedi.
As far as Your Baby Can Read - I've read several reviews done by degreed proffessionals on the product and they say it doesn't hurt, but it really doesn't help all that much in the long run.  While your baby may read sooner than others - when they get up to age 7 most children are at the same reading level.
I was just interested in the whole concept, but don't think that I will purchase it for Cash - although I don't think it would hurt if it didn't help!
I think we are all doing great with engaging our kids in learning!

Oh yeah and keep up the reading. One day you will see how James benefits from it, it is really really important. Medina loves her books and we read every day when we can.

Every baby is different, just as AP said, they will do it when they're ready. I have also noticed that with Medina, she was quiet for a while and now is a total chatterbox!!! But she does recognize alot of words already and I have also heard that boys take a little longer, don't really know but my niece was faster with everything than my nephew. I think that perhaps he is concentrating on something else e.g. achieving a physical milestone. Didn't he start crawling not so long ago? Is he learning two languages? Babies that grow up with two languages also take a little longer so I'm expecting Medina to take longer but they usually catch up (I expect her to be as big a chatterbox as her Dad!!!!!!!!!).

Don't worry, I also expect Medina at some stage again to start 'talking' and be quiet, I think they are just phases and they are focusing on something else.

Hey there. I having 4 kids have realized there is no time line when babies begin to talk. Some are just quicker than others. My oldest started saying Hi at 5 mos yet my 3rd didn't start talking until almost a yr. Our dr said it was because the oldest 2 were doing all the talking for her...Jeremy is following in her footsteps he has yet to say anything. He babbles all day but no words yet. He knows his name our names he can grab things he wants. I'm not worried my dr said it's quite normal. I personally don't think you can ever overwhelm your baby helping them to learn. James like Jeremy will talk when they are ready. Jeremy still hasn't gotten a tooth but yet he is the size of a toddler. LOL. He seems to be doing everything backwards but it's working. I will ask my dr about boys taking longer I heard that with potty training but not talking. Interesting. I think just keep doing what you are doing. I read him stories and have him watch noggin and play with his toys with him and sing songs. Eventually it will pay off. I can't wait to see what the other girls say.
