Rash, eczema

I just got back from James pediatrician and he has about 5-6 small bumps on his skin, back chest , arms and buttocks, they are red and the pediatrician thinks he has dry skin/eczema, anyone else having this problem. She suggested bathing every other day and using aveeno and aquaphor. Any ideas?

Cash had a problem with eczema that was just as you described.  We did pretty much what you said.  We switched to Avveno and Aquaphor, but now I am using a sensitive skin formula by Mustella.  I moisturize every day, but only bathe him every other day.  My pedi also advised not to let him sit in the water any longer than necessary (shame bc he loves the water!) and that when I bathe him not to rub hard on the skin.  We use an over the counter cortizone cream on the areas when they flare up and it works wonders!  Also my dr said to try to use cotton clothing - not synthetics.  We do that when we can.  I hope this helps!  Also - I use Dreft for washing or the UP and UP brand of Dreft by Target.  I always have though, so that wasn't a change.  Hope this helps and that it clears up soon.  I did all of these things at the advice of our pedi and it has all really worked well for us!

Well Medina had also eczema but it has become better. First if all, we though she had an allergy to wholemeal products. But it was still there a few weeks after we cut out all grains. I used an ointment with Panthenol and compared that with Weleda Calendula oil and both were the same. I massage with Weleda Calendula oil after each bath and it smells wonderful and is soothing on the skin and moisturises well. We reduced bathing time as well so not on a daily basis (dries the skin).

I remembered a few weeks later that I had changed the washing detergent from sensitive to normal and started using a fabric softener in addition to the disinfectant. Once I went back to using a sensitive washing detergent and disinfectant, it reduced.
