I started painting the nursery today :)

So our roommate moved out last weekend and today my husband gave me the go ahead to start buying paint!! I am getting much more excited now :) Cant believe my little girl will be here in 11 weeks. I think its going to continue to go fast since now I can decorate and not just sit around all day with nothing to do.

Well the room is pretty blotchy!!! Im going to have to do a second coat of primer today I think so that we will have nice even paint in the end. The colors before were tree trunk dark brown and grass green with gray trim.. Leave it to a 28 year old guy that knows nothing about colors lol... I felt like I was swimming in a bowl of mint chip ice cream!! I am sure we could have worked with it had we been having a boy and we could have done jungle monkeys or something like that but it was not working for a girl :)

Oh yay! I can't wait to turn everything into a girl nursery and get my son's room set up. I think he will still sleep in the nursery for a bit though. He's not quite ready for his toddler bed yet.

That sounds really cute! im actually looking for a good lady bug print to either buy made or get someone to make into a blanket for my daughters toddler bed... our baby room has one wall that is orange and the other 3 are cream color, i have a couple white shelves up with toys and decorations on it and then animal decals all aorund the room... she really likes them... the crib bedding has poka dots and rings in different colors and the change table cover is orange as well... i didnt know what i was having with her either and because we only have 2 bedrooms and i knew i would have #2 baby as soon as i could i knew the room would have ot be gender neutral for both and i really like it... im sure your daughter will love all the pictures! its so cute when i go to get my daughter from her room and she is pointing out animals :) right now she really loves dora, elmo, and lady bugs... at grandmas house she has those indoor lady bugs that you cant get rid of... but allisa loves catching them and they are in the house all year around! so she loves bugs! so im trying to pick a bedding she will love adn think is special to make it easier to get her out of her crib... and baby into it :)

We are going to do the ceiling blue and my husband is going to paint little pictures in the clouds... then the walls will be pink on top and green on bottom like a little grassy hill and there will be bugs and flowers and a tree probably. Its something that will work for years I think so she can grow into it. I like the thought of having the critters on the walls because I think it will help with her imagination as she grows also and the pictures in the clouds :) So its going to be a few different colors. Also my mom just bought bedding today that has little ladybugs on it and flowers. Its super cute!
