More of a rant

So I ran across this story, 6 reasons why we won't give up our seat for a pregnant woman or something like that, and I just have to say it was rather insulting. Not because of the fact that they are singling out pregnant women, but because of the fact that it is quite obvious that this world has lost their sense of manners. While the story is obviously about pregnant women, you can tell by some of the responses that these remarks pertain to others as well including the elderly, injured people etc. They put the remark that 'you're the one that got yourself that way, why should we do anything courteous?' More people would rather take up a whole bench than move aside for someone that might need it. Benches are huge, more than one person can sit there. I just do not understand it. My parents always raised me to have the manners to be courteous to others as you do not know if there is something wrong with them or not, its a shame that more parents either have not, or their kids just grew up to be jerks anyways. I really hope that our kids' generations will be better than the ones running around right now!

I'll agree that their are some decent people out there like that, but man there is a lot of hate around what I am seeing. I live in a decently big town, there's a North side and a South side so yeah I guess that's big, but anyways with each of my pregnancies (now do not get me wrong, I do not expect special attention, but I do expect people to at least have manners) I've had men and women alike giving me the worst looks, acting like I am dirt etc. Even when I am with my husband they look at me like I am some trashy skank or something which I hardly understand because lets face it, there's no way I could do so much as dress close to the way Brittney Spears or any of those other girls do. I'm always covered. Always. I've heard whispers behind my back from people that do not know the first thing about me, and the few times I need a seat and ask for it, I've yet to have anyone nice enough to scoot over. Sure I can live with sitting on the floor somewhere if I have to, but in instances like Clint, or people that are obviously elderly it just makes me sick. I can't see how people just laugh in their faces when they need a seat.

I honestly havent had any issues with people being anything but nice so far... its really quite funny actually... at the grocery store they absolutely insist on taking my groceries out and putting them in my car for me(i wish that was the case at my house ;) lol)  i picked up cat food9giant bag for farm cats) last pregnancy and poor clint just had surgery so i was carrying the big bag and the store worker couldnt get it out of my hands fast enough! (im sure he was thinking some mean thoughts on why my Bf was letting me carry it lol) even going out of stores ppl jump to open the door and the other day for my glucose test i was completely fine standing and a young guy refused to sit back down so i could take his chair... even at work they are the same... the other night shift i worked with a male special care aide and first thing outta his mouth was "you take it easy and ill answer all the call bells" i laughed and thanked him but said i could manage helping lol so then he switched it to "well ill do all the lifting and turning ppl" this guy was like this last time too... pretty funny!  he thinks ill go into labour... like this second! lol
It could be that Saskatchewan is a pretty rural province so i think that makes a difference... small towns definitely look after each other... and the citys here are pretty small too...
