First Trimester Screening?

Hello... I had a m/c at the end of Aug and my Dr confirmed on Monday that I am 9wks 6 days ...due date June 7th... I'm excited and both nervous...My Dr. Doesn't seemed concerned but offered testing when I go back for blood work in 2 weeks..I'm just curious to know, has anyone done theirs , are thinking about not doing it at all?

Thanks!! This has definitely put my mind at ease... My Dr. said that getting preg immediately after a m/c is often not recommended bigot happens...And plenty of healthy babies are born .... So, I'm 27 I think I'll go for the first round screening ...that I found out today my INS will cover most of the cost ...Thanks and wish me luck =)

Because of my age, I'm going to probably go straight to a CVS, like I did with my last pregnancy.  It was a relief to not have to worry about that the rest of the pregnancy!  But if I were younger than 35, I would do the blood test screening.  Good luck!

The bloodwork is required, from what I understand.  To test for HIV, stds, etc.  The screening is optional, and I have *always* declined it (I am pregnant with #5) because of the high percentage of "false positives".  I know quite a few women who've been told their baby had a high risk of having Downs----only to have a percfectly healthy baby in the end.  Who needs THAT worry for 6-8 months?!
BTW, my doctor assured me that a baby concived immediately after a m/c has no more risks than any other baby.  It was certainly true for me!

The blood test and the ultrasound for down syndrome etc..I guess I'm just worried because of the m/c ...but hearing your situation definitely puts my mind at ease at least for anlittle while...

I'm not sure what testing you are referring to... the bloodwork?  or the screening for Downs, etc?
Anyway, Congrats on your pregnancy! My last baby was conceived immediatly after a m/c, and it was an uneventful pregnancyand a perfectly healthy little boy!  Wishing you a happy healthy (and worry-free) 9 months!
