Take the tablets 30 mins before going to bed - you will sleep much better, i have done that 2 nights in a row and am sleeping much better. THANKS GOODNESS
Wow really? Thats so good! Thanks!!
I think it has all to do with the streatching of the muscles - i have started on the Magnesium and have already noticed a difference and today is only my 3rd day on the tables. the stretching pain is not half as bad as it use to be, but i have also noticed that baba is also a bit more relaxed.
Do any of you ladies have pain like up the side of your stomach and around to your back? Its killing me, it came on super strong for about 20 min its just mild now but still hurts, just curious if any of you have felt this. Thanks :)
Great pleasure guys - just hope it helps everybody - but i also like the idea of the prem-labour and low birth weight factor.
Yes thank you for the info!!! I will stock up too!!
Thanks so much for the info, I actually have magnesium pills from another issue and will start taking them today.
Doc confirmed that it is all the streaching - i did some reading on Magnisium suppliemtns and am shocked on how much this can help with cramps yet so little of it is found in pregnancy vitamins.
please read up on it - im going today and getting some
Magnesium
Magnesium is a mineral that your body needs to form bone, protein and fatty acids. It relaxes your muscles and helps your blood to clot appropriately. This is a useful mineral if you suffer from leg cramps. Studies show that magnesium levels are lower in women who have had a premature labour.
Furthermore, because it has a good effect on muscles, it can help to prevent premature contractions by relaxing the muscles of the womb. Scientists have investigated the effect of giving magnesium during pregnancy and found that women taking magnesium supplements had less chance of having low birthweight and premature babies, and their babies had better Apgar score.
Magnesium is known as 'nature's tranquilliser', so it can be invaluable if you are suffering from tension and/or stress. It's also a good basic treatment for insomnia. Take it as a separate supplement (apart from what is contained in your multivitamin and mineral tablet) for best effect. A total of 200mg per day is the optimum dosage. If you need help with sleeping, take it about an hour before going to bed.
Every now and then I get a twinge of period type cramps, though they never last long. It's all part of the stretching out, I think. I got them with my son, too.
I have been feeling that as well I have also been feeling braxton hicks more recently. I believe it is normal but ask your doctors just to be on the safe side.
I am seeing doc on Friday and i will ask him and let you know what he says. I have heard that you can feel thos Braxton hicks cramps this early so not sure if it is that.
Good luck and chat again on friday.
Hi Kirsteng266, yeap I have been experiencing such pains - sometimes it feels like my lower abdomen becomes numb, its frightening thou! I have no bleeding or spotting ... I assume it to be normal. I am visiting the doc on the 10th February - hoping he will be able to advise. Good luck with yours. Blessings
