When did you start showing?

This may seem like a really weird questions but aren't you supposed to start showing sooner with your second pregnancy? I keep seeing people post pictures of being about as far along as me and even though it is their first or second pregnancy they seem to be bigger? I have an ultrasound tomorrow but I'm really concerned that something isn't right. Shouldn't I be showing more than I am? I posted a picture on my profile if anyone wants to look...

Don't worry, when people start to show this early, its really just bloating. The uterus wont start to pop out from behind the pubic bone until your 12 weeks or so. A lot of people actually lose weight in their first trimester, because of the morning sickness. Your ultrasound results sounded really promising. Just keep thinking positive.
I had a neighbour, that noone knew she was pregnant, including herself, because she was 100 pounds soaking wet, and only gained 5 pounds! Imagine her suprise when one day she popped out a baby! ( I'm serious, this is a true story!!!)

I really wouldn't worry about it girl, I am 10 weeks and barely showing... and this is my second. Now granted, I AM showing more this early on than I did with my first pregnancy, I didn't start showing till I was 4 months pregnant with my first!! I knew a girl who was average size and thin, who was 9 months pregnant and ppl thought she was about 4 or 5 months, her baby was a normal size and weight when she gave birth. I knew another girl, and she was a slightly (and I'm stressing slightly) overweight, but not much... no one could even tell she was pregnant!
Everyone carries differently, and every pregnancy is different! So you might have a third child and carry totally different than your first and second... it just depends! Don't sweat it, I'm sure you're just fine!

Most women won't show till 12 weeks unless it's bloating because of where the baby is sitting.  Women who've had previous pregnancies tend to have a little extra fat in there belly (not all, some do loose it), so they also start to look like there showing early.

I believe the baby is behind your pelvic bone till 12 weeks, and when you show before that it's usually thing's being pushed up and out of the way.

Also, if your abs aren't as strong you will also show sooner.  Someone who has nice tight abs may not show till much later in the pregnancy.

I'm 12 weeks and I can tell that I look bigger (I've lost almost 5 lb), but not necessarily that I look pregnant yet.

And don't worry about not hearing the heartbeat, if you do have extra fat around that area it could be harder to hear it.  At my 9 week apt we didn't hear it at all, but with my first pregnancy I heard it at 9 weeks.  We did see it though :)

I heard the heartbeat on the doppler last pregnancy at 10 weeks both at home and at the doctors office (knew it was the baby because it has the screen that says how fast it is beating). That is why it makes me nervous because I'm almost 10 weeks and I can't hear it. I need freaking xanax.

I totally understand. My little one will be 3 in a few weeks and he doesn't understand and I took him to my first u/s with me. I told someone else there is no way I would buy a doppler because I think I would just freak myself out and I would drive my doctor nuts lol! I am sure that everything is fine with you and some women don't hear a heartbeat on a doppler until until 12-13 weeks and that is in a doctor's office. I am sure that if you keep using the doppler you will find it eventually. I hope that everything is good with this pregnancy :)

I looked at your picture... you are showing a lot more then me. I am totally freaking myself out and I know that it is silly. We had a u/s last week and saw the baby measuring 8w1d with a heart rate of 165 and my hcg levels were in the correct range and I haven't had anymore spotting. But I am just SO worried that I'm going to go in tomorrow and that something will have gone wrong. My first pregnancy I saw the heart rate at 6w2d and it was ok (I was bleeding though) and then the bleeding stopped went in for an ultrasound at 9 weeks (on valentines day no less) and nothing. Baby was measuring 6w4d. I wish I could just hear the freaking heart rate on my doppler. That would calm me down. I tried to listen to it yesterday and I couldn't hear anything... I know that it was probably too early but it still has me a little worried. I just don't want to get my hopes up and have them come crashing down tomorrow. I refuse to even bring my daughter to the u/s with me because I'm afraid that something will go wrong and that I will be distraught and freak her out.

Hey I looked on your profile and didn't see any pictures but this is my third pregnancy and you can see my picture at 9w2d. With my first and second pregnancy I didn't start showing until 16-20 weeks... I think it all depends on how you are carrying and how much bloating you have during this time period... I don't really think that any of us should really be showing until 12-16 weeks when the babies get bigger. I am a lot bigger in size this time and as weird as it is I would think that I wouldn't show as much being a size 7 -9 instead of a size 0-3 like I was with both of my other pregnancies. I hope that all goes well with your u/s tomorrow!
