Anyone still bleeding?

Today is 6 weeks since I had my daughter. I am still bleeding.... what the heck is going on? Is this normal? I had my check up last week and my doctor said I must have an infection on my incision since it is still tender. She prescribed antibiotics, but it doesn't seem to help with the tender feeling. Could that be the cause of the bleeding? Should I wait a little longer to contact my doctor?

would you bleed less after a c section? i would not have thought so as your womb still has to shed etc. could do without the heavy bleeding :) i noticed my bleeding almost stopped at the middle of 3 weeks after then got my period and it was probably near enough as heavy as just after having my daughter, i bled until 6 weeks after.

i see what you mean, thinking its maybe internal bleeding as your womb was opened? when was the last time you seen your doctor? if its been within the last few days leave it until the end of the week to speak to her again, give it a few more days over the 6 week mark to subside. good luck x

I'm still bleeding and I'll be 5 weeks post tomorrow.  I still have some of the stitches in and the bleeding seems to come mostly from the stitches from what I noticed.  I'm actually calling my dr tomorrow to see what she says.  With my son I know I didn't bleed this long (I had more stitches too).  They used the disolavable ones with my son, but this time they aren't so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
