He should see his doctor.  There is no bone in the penis, but there can be this thing where when it is erect, if it gets bent down sharply, there can be a popping and it does get sore.  It has to do with the "hydraulics" of getting an erection, the area is all swollen with liquid and then it gets pressed in a wrong direction.  I can't remember that much about it, but if you google "pressing down on an erect penis, popping sound and pain" you should find references to the medical condition.

Please be concerned that he is in pain and should see a doctor; don't grump to him about being horny, try to help him.
