With my first pregnancy I was induced. I went in at 8 in the morning.. started the process.. my contractions were nothing.. no pain at all. I started to push around 11:30 and within only 30 minutes out she came! I've heard many different stories but my experience went so smooth I'm hoping to be induced again with this little one. Good luck!

My mother was induced with one of us and she had a normal delivery and my cousin has been induced with both of her children and again delivered normally. My water broke with my first but my contractions weren't strong enough so I was induced with pitocin and did end up with a c-section because I'm too small to deliver a baby, so I don't think being induced has alot to do with it. I've known a lot of people who were induced and I'm the only one who needed a c-section.

i agree that inductions dont mean csections... you have to think of why the person hasnt went into labour on their own as well... i was induced at 41 weeks 4 days and i did end of with csection in the end but it wasnt cause of the induction... it was gonna happen regardless of what interventions were attempted first... my daughter never dropped EVER... she was 9lbs 2 oz, 95 percentile head, face up and head arched back....she was stuck and with out her dropping there was nothing to help my body dialate any further so it stopped at 7cm... they tried cervadil at first, then broke my water, and the pitocin... csection was gonna happen regardless and the medications didnt cause it at all.... and remember the farther you go past your due date the larger the baby can get and the more risk for complications arise right there...
So im not saying that some woman just dont progress with the medications but there is other factors that affect the outcome as well... and size can be one of the main factors...and someone also said how well baby tollerates labour... and im sure there is other factors as well... remember back in the day woman died during delivery(and a lot more babies too) and having a csection in the end is a much better alternative :) plus they really are not that bad at all...i never had pain following my csection... never would have known i had surgery at all...

If you're going to end up in c-section, it will happen whether you go naturally or induction, I didn't get induced and I had a c-section, I'm only 4'11, and small, and my husband is 6'1, and we had an almost 9lb baby, and he was too big, so if it's going to happen it will happen either way, and honestly c-sections aren't that bad!

Both my sister and best friend were induces and had a vaginal birth! Usually when they stat you will be induce they will tell you how....most of the time its with potassium....if its a c-section they will tell you! However once with every delivery rather its chemically induced or naturally going into labor you never know what complications may arise and it could lead to a c-section. Basically if it comes down to needing a c-section its because they want to insure the safety and health of both baby and mom! Even if you have a birthing plan its just an idea plan of what you would like....unfortunately during labor things change and other methods have to be used to again insure the safety and health of both mom and baby! If you ask your doctor he will tell you the same thing! I do hope you have a healthy smooth delivery dear!

Induction does not mean you will get a c-section. The chances of getting a c-section are increased slightly--I think it's under 20% chance. I'd have to look it up, but I know it's not 90%.
I have two kids and both were born from an induction for labor. I had them both vaginally with no problems.

I was induced after being in the first stage of labor for 4 days and not progressing lol ( conttractions ten minutes apart dialated to 3 for 4 days) I had a vaginal birth just under 4 hours later. It's different everytime for everyone.

I was induced and was in labor for 37 hours and didn't have a c-section. I think it all depends on how the baby reacts during labor. I still worry though about this baby and c-section.
