Ectopic or Too Early???

I'm 27yrs old and this is my 2nd pregnancy. I had an ectopic when I was 18 yrs old that ended in surgery and I still have both of my tubes. I had fertility issues so I took Clomid 50 mg on cycle day 3-7 and got pregnant. I found out the first day of my missed period which was Feb 3. On Feb 4th my HCG was at 500. 2 days later 672, two days later it was 709, two days later it was 1194 and three days later it was 1817. I have had all the normal signs of pregnancy, I think. I went to the ER on the 14th because I had light brown spotting. The ultrasound showed nothing in my tubes or my uterus! I'm 5-6 weeks! Shouldn't my ultrasound show something??? I have had three and they all just keep saying it could be too early!!! The ER checked my HCG and it was 2162 and I had another ultrasound that next day and it still showed nothing!!! I go back on Mon for moore blood work and and another ultrasound. I have no pain other than my insides feel really sore from the ultrasounds and pelvic exam I had back to back. I know this may sound gross but the only time I have been spotting is after my hubby gives me an "O" and I have mild cramping and spotting for almost a day. I'm just sore inside and have no clue what to think cause this is not like my first ectopic at all! I really want this baby! What do you think??????????????????

Well just to update... I went to the ER on sat with bleeding and cramps and it turns out that I'm having a miscarriage. My hcg had dropped from 2162 to 502 so they didn't see anything in my uterus or my tubes.

as well...with an ectopic pregnancy levels tend to be lower (and usually don't show up when you take a home pregnancy test but its not the same for everyone)

I wouldnt worry too much! I dont think it's an ectopic because they would see it in the tubes.  Spotting is completely normal whether its implantation bleeding, or the cervix closing (or other unknown but normal reasons) my doctor informed me it's normal to experience spotting up to 4 months and rarely but it does happen...throughout your entire pregnancy! It might just be too early to tell and you could have concieved later than you think (i know exactly when my last period was and the conception date is wayyyyy off...) so just relax and enjoy your pregnancy!!

Hi not sure what my levels were.for me i started to bleed at 5 and half weeks.after a confirmed pregnancy,so had no idea was eptopic until they scanned me,and they found a mass in my right tube.so i never needed a shot or anything,it dispelled itself, but sadly i ended up with 1 tube.but managed to have 4 other pregnancys since then, failed ones i might add.but this one is strong.not long left..
I was put on clomid many years ago for pcos, had surgery for this but the clomid didnt work.believe it or not fertilitea actually worked for us.it is hard to wait, but im sure all will be well, please let me know how you get on...

Thanks, it's hard to wait, but I know I have no other choice. How far along were you when they found your ectopic? What were your HCG levels with it?

I agree it maybe to early, ive suffered an eptopic, and is very scarey to think it maybe happening again.with a HCG of over 2162 the generally would at least see a sac of sorts in your uterus.at 5-6 weeks,Sometimes because its so small ie just a little dot,can be hard to see.hopefully at your next appointment you will see more.but they have checked your tubes, and nothing there which is a good thing.try and hold out hun.good luck..

It may be too early just like the docs said. You may have ovulated later than you think, making you not as far along as you think. Just try to relax for now and wait for your appointment Monday. Good luck, I wish you the best!
