It hurts, but no more than it would if you weren't pregnant.  I always look away when they stick the needle in and it's done within a matter of seconds/minutes - nothing bad.  Get used to it because they'll want to do a lot of blood tests throughout your pregnancy.  Be brave, you'll be fine! :-)

Hunny, you're pregnant and you'd better try n warm yourself up to the idea of being a human pin cushion.
Sorry if that sounds blunt but that's how I felt with both of my pregnancies.

Ofcoarse it's gunna hurt pregnant or now, they're puncturing your skin. lol
I'm not a big fan of needles either. You'd think with all the technology these days the'd have made a painless way to give vaccinations n what not. But getting blood, a needle is inevitable I'm sorry to say.

I have 14 piercings and so needles, although every time I still am a little nervous before I get the needle, it's really not a big deal.
It's so quick it'll be done before you even know it.

With both of my pregnancies I've been given shots and had blood drawn more times than I can count.
ATLEAST a few doazen times with each baby.
Pregnancy calls for alot of blood tests n what not on an almost monthly basis depending on where you go and what your doctor needs and what if there is pregnancy-related complications.

You'll be fine, the worst needle you'll ever get is the day you deliver and that's the IV they have to stick into your hand and even that isn't that bad.
Who knows it may not even bother you, but that's the one that was most uncomfortable to get in my opinion.

Getting blood taken to me is alot less painful than getting a vaccination shot in the upper arm. They take it from the inner elbow where the skin is soft and the veins are easily accessable.
It's more uncomfortable than anything.
You'll be fine.

I personally think that it is mostly psychosomatic. Getting blood drawn is not painful for most people with normal sized veins. Just try and relax. Aside from having small or hard to locate veins, having blood drawn is relatively painless and easy.

yeah it feels like a big bee sting, but it's over really fast and trust me I've been in and out of the hospital SO much between kidney stones and pregnancy and kidney stones WITH pregnancy....I hate needles but you get over the pain really fast. It hurts as long as it takes them to stick you, then there's no more pain, except maybe you'll bruise a little. You'll be fine :) Take a breath before they stick you (but don't hold your breath while they're doing it) and as the needle goes in, breathe out slowly, if you tense your muscles it hurts more, so you have to force yourself to relax and breathing out helps.
